TnT Show 01-15-2003

Wednesday 1-15-03

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing the snow we’re supposed to get some time today. They pointed out that the snow shouldn’t affect tomorrow night’s dodge ball game and encouraged everyone in the Schuyler area to stop out and see the event. The guys then spent some time discussing a disgusting photo from today’s sports section of the World Herald. The photo featured a close-up of a guy with cauliflower ear. They discussed the causes for the funky feature, mostly centering on wrestling, and wondered why some guys get it and some don’t. A listener with wrestling experience checked in and said that depending on the headgear one wears, it can be avoided. He also said that it is possible to drain one’s ear back to normal, provided you get it done early enough and the goo that is in your year doesn’t solidify.

Also early in the show, the guys talked a little about the twins Julie and Bill of Channel 7 just had. Although they congratulated the couple and wished them well, the guys didn’t think that the story of the birth of the children should have led the Channel 7 news yesterday. From there, the guys spent some time discussing the upcoming Super Bowl party at Brewsky’s. They went over a list of the various prizes and contests that will be taking place there on Super Bowl Sunday. Everyone seemed to like the ‘’Beer for a year’’ contest the best. From the sounds of it, Coors Light is offering up 365 beers to the winner, one for each day of the year, which will be redeemable as you see fit until the 365 are gone or the year comes to and end, whichever is first. More information on the Super Bowl party will follow so stay tuned to the mighty Z.

BW came in with the news shortly after their Super Bowl party talk. During the news, TnT discussed the naming of droughts, the upcoming snow and how it will affect BW’s drive down to Neckville to deliver a truck for a friend, porn by Wicked Video, exploding frying pans, and Brian also shared a tale about his trip to Linens’n’Things for curtains, as he is attempting to fix up his home so it doesn’t look quite as trashy with the multi-colored electric blanket curtains he currently has draped in his window.

After the news, Todd and Tyler read over a list of the top 100 moments that rocked TV, a list put together by TV Guide and VH1. The first portion of the show aired last night and Tyler caught bits and pieces of it. For about an hour or so, TnT went down the list from bottom to top and discussed the moments mentioned. For the most part, they agreed with many of the placings of various events but neither of the guys seemed to think that Bill Clinton’s sax playing on the Arsenio Hall show should have taken the #1 slot.

TnT spoke to Richard Schlesinger from CBS’s ‘’48 Hours’’ this morning. He told the guys about a murder story they are doing tonight. From his description, it sounds like a guy came home to find a man attacking his wife. The husband shot and killed the attacker but his wife ended up dying from the attack anyway. The police ruled out the husband as a suspect but 4 years later, new evidence came up in the case. Richard wouldn’t offer many more details, as to entice you to watch tonight, so if you are so inclined, stick around after the Creighton game tonight on KM3 for this edition of ‘’48 Hours’’.

With an upcoming dodge ball game in West Point, Todd and Tyler received a call from Jason of the West Point News asking to interview them about their dodge ball team. TnT did the interview over the air this morning and answered questions on the origin of their dodge ball team, the strong points of the various players, and how the guys expect the rest of the season to unfold. After the interview, TnT spent some time analyzing their dodge ball roster in an attempt to determine whom ‘’brings nothing’’ to their game. After going over the list and marking the weaker players with an ‘’N’’ for ‘’nothing’’, TnT determined that there are about 5 players who suck the monster ass.

Trav came in with a sports report later in the show. He discussed some feedback from his ‘’For What It’s Worth’’ commentary, reminded everyone that he’s doing the Creighton game tonight on KM3, and then told TnT about how Sarah Simmons made a ‘’hummer’’ comment on TV last night. Trav said that during a story about a high school player who drives a Hummer due to the fact that he’s going to go into the NBA soon, Sarah Simmons said something to the effect of, ‘’All sports guys should get hummers.’’ TnT phoned Sarah to find out if she realized what she said and after having a little trouble working the number pad, Todd was eventually able to get her on the air. Sarah told the guys she didn’t realize what she had said at the time but later had a chuckle about it. Before letting her go, TnT asked Sarah whether or not she thought all radio guys should get hummers as well. She giggled again; it was rather cute.

After the sports, TnT read an e-mail from a bored listener who offered to make them up an Excel spreadsheet for them to use as their drug calculator. As many of you know, the guys often do stories on drug busts in the news and every time one comes up, the gang tries to determine the street value of the dope found. To get a more accurate portrayal of the current value of various drugs, TnT opened up the phone lines and let some of their listeners check in with the current prices on various drugs. I’m sure the guys will get plenty of use out of their new spreadsheet street value calculator in the near future. Stay tuned to see how well the thing works.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning and delivered a commentary on how Mel Gibson is getting crap for wanting to do a movie about the life of Jesus. We’ll here from the right wing, religious Cable Guy again in the near future so stay tuned for that.

BW returned later in the show with this morning’s entertainment report. The gang spent some time discussing Diana Ross songs, singing many of them and oddly, nearly every one was set to the same tune. It was hilarious. The guys then talked about E!’s list of the top 25 sexiest women in Hollywood. Jennifer Garner from the kick-ass show ‘’Alias’’ won top honors. Also during the e-news, BW spouted out the funniest line I’ve ever heard from him. TnT seemed to concur with it’s hilariousness. BW said something to the effect of, ‘’Eric Clapton’s wife gave birth to a baby boy, replacing the one that toppled to its death out of the 50th floor.’’ The gang then concluded the e-news and their show with a little talk about eating pigmy rectums.

Tomorrow the guys will be joined by comedian Bobby Slaton from the Funny Bone. Craig Peters will also be coming in. There will also be lots of talk about tomorrow night’s dodge ball game in Schuyler. It should be another excellent Todd and Tyler show so make sure to join them at 5:30am. Also keep in mind that tonight at 10pm on Z-92, you’ll be able to catch the 3rd Shift Replay of this morning’s show. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
