TnT Show 01-27-2003

Monday 1-27-03

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by talking about their Super Bowl party at Brewsky’s yesterday. They had a great turnout for the event even though the game itself was less than interesting and seemed over after the first quarter. The guys mentioned that a few people bailed on their tabs at the bar, namely one of Todd’s buddies and Dean Wysocki from Fox 42. The guys tried to get a hold of Dean early in the show but when they phoned, Pete (his roommate and also the unjittery sports guy from 42) told them that he had just went to bed after a night of drinking and poker. The guys let Pete go with a promise to call later in the day and make Wysocki pay up. TnT then took a moment to discuss many of the give-aways that took place yesterday. A small, young lady was the winner of the most coveted prize of the day, ‘’Beer for a Year’’ from Coors Light.

The guys then spent some time talking about the commercials that aired during yesterday’s game. They found nearly every Bud commercial amusing and also seemed to get a kick out of the Sierra Mist ones. TnT were also happy to see the DOT-COM commercials gone this year and were pleased at the humorous approach many of the advertisers took, but they did mention that there were still a few commercials that they just didn’t get.

BW came in a little later in the show. Due to a cold, he had squeaky voice Peter Brady syndrome all morning long. During the news, the guys discussed an alleged dog-humping bust in Lincoln’s Baby Dolls dance club. BW also shared a tale about farting in church, a fart for which a small boy sitting in front of him was blamed for. Todd then talked about a Penicillin shot to the ass he recently received and the gang wrapped up today’s news segment by discussing a uterus-branding story from a Kentucky doctor.

After the news wrapped up, BW told the guys about a woman he met a few months ago and how he felt he had blown the relationship by listening to bad advice from others. Brian said he had met a woman via an e-mail and after meeting her once, they really hit it off. Other friends of BW then told him not to focus too much on the one woman and said that he should date around a bit. Well, BW took their advice and ended up loosing the interest of the woman he really liked. Todd and Tyler had tried to warn Brian not to listen to the input of anyone but them and it seemed that BW finally agreed with the guys on that statement today. It became clear to TnT that BW was finally beginning to open up to them as he described the situation to them today. Travis, on the other hand, was of the opinion that Brian’s tale this morning was just a way for him to seem more pitiful to the female listeners in hopes of scoring some sympathy pie.

The conversation continued as the guys analyzed various aspects of the dating world. They covered how the ‘’I don’t play games’’ phrase is normally the first move made in any game. They also discussed the phenomenon of how some women claim not to date men, they just go out with groups of friends. The whole friends aspect morphed into yet another lengthy discussion today as the guys expressed their belief that if a woman has a bunch of male friends hanging out with her when she goes out, she has either A) nailed a handful of them in the past and keeps them around for easy-access throck or B) the guys will end up throck blocking you because they want to nail the girl they’re hanging with.

TnT spoke to a lady named Kerri today. She is a cheerleader for Tampa Bay and was at the Super Bowl yesterday. Todd knows her through a friend and phoned her during this morning’s show to discuss her Super Bowl experience. She talked about the atmosphere of the sporting event, the game itself, meeting some of the celebrity performers, and the grueling schedule prior to the big match. Kerri was quite cool and said that she’d get in touch with TnT again if she can find out the inside scoop on why the Raider’s center didn’t play.

Travis came in a bit later in the show with today’s sports report. During his visit with TnT, there was plenty of Super Bowl talk, the gang touched on Creighton’s game the other day, everyone shared their views on a variety of the commercials that aired during the Super Bowl, and there was some news from the skiing and tennis world. Travis also mentioned that his ‘’For What It’s Worth’’ segment will be returning to the KM3 newscast tonight so feel free to tune that in. Also before leaving, TnT discussed Trav’s gay love affair with Buddy Holly, which Travis has come to believe himself now.

After the sports, TnT read over an e-mail from a listener named Anna asking them for a little trained counseling. Her request was spawned by TnT’s earlier discussion about BW’s attempted relationship from a few months ago. After reading her e-mail, TnT phoned Anna to talk about her situation. From the sounds of it, she hangs out with friends when she goes out and has been having a hard time meeting men. Although she claimed she hasn’t been sleeping with any of the guy friends, a red flag as described by TnT in their earlier conversation, the guys told Anna that it might still be perceived that she is by any man who might want to approach her; hence their apprehension. The guys then offered some more counseling to a male listener who said his woman has been pushing him away in recent days. That conversation spawned another tangent about how women have the ability to turn off their emotions in regards to relationships a hell of a lot faster than men do.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning with a commentary on the halftime show of the Super Bowl. Larry thought it sucked and for the most part, TnT agreed. They all thought, though, that this year’s halftime performance wasn’t as bad as the Aerosmith/Boy Band mix from a few years ago. We’ll hear more from Larry as the week moves on so stay tuned to the Todd and Tyler show for more.

Squeaky Brian returned later in the show with this morning’s entertainment report. During the e-news, the gang continued their talk about the disappointing Super Bowl commercials, they touched once again on the penis powder products they’ve seen advertised lately, and they were finally able to get in touch with 42’s Dean Wysocki. Dean told the guys that his friend was supposed to take care of his $20 tab but must have forgotten. Dean promised to swing by Brewsky’s and pay his bill today but if his foresight in that realm is anything like his ability to predict the weather, Brewsky’s’ might be out $20 until the next monsoon season.

Well, that’s the update for today. If you missed today’s show, you can catch it re-airing tonight at 10pm as the 3rd Shift Replay. Make sure to rejoin the guys tomorrow at 5:30am for the Tuesday edition of their show. Thanks for watching. Good night. –Corby-
