Monday 2-24-03

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by talking about their weekends. They played a round of ‘’Where’d you eat this weekend’’ with Tyler hitting the Outback and Todd having a continental breakfast in the Hilton’s new restaurant downtown. After covering the food angle, the gang moved on to talk about other weekend activities. Tyler bought the Tyson fight and was basically screwed out of his $25. Todd went to the Creighton game and stayed in a hotel downtown. TnT then spent some time talking about last night’s Grammy awards in depth.

Following their Grammy talk, TnT read over a few hate e-mails from their listeners and then moved on to discuss Crouch’s comments in the paper. Basically, Crouch said that he might go play in the Canadian football league because no team in this country will let him play QB. TnT gave Crouch a gigantic ‘’Whhhaaaaaaa!’’ for being such a piss baby. As you might imagine, discussion of Crouch’s comments continued throughout the remainder of the show.

BW came in with this morning’s newscast. The feature story of the morning involved new allegations about sexual abuse at Boys Town back in the 80’s. According to the reports, a counselor or two would have boys twist off in front of him or give the boys oral sex. In return for the acts, the boy involved would be awarded various baseball cards (kind of a ‘’keep your mouths shut’’ situation). Todd and Tyler then spent the rest of the newscast reminiscing about ‘80s baseball player cards they would twist off to receive. Even though the conversation was incredibly disturbing, the addition of the infamous ‘’92 man Mandan man can jam’’ sound effect (layered whack, whack, whacking) made it oddly erotic and funny as hell.

After the news and satisfying their urges to twist off for various baseball cards, Todd and Tyler took a moment to phone Friday’s Vegas trip winner. Sherry, a Lancer house parent, said she hasn’t been to Vegas for about 5 years and she and her husband are looking forward to seeing the changes. TnT then gave a hint or two about today’s Vegas tunes before moving on.

Travis came in with this morning’s sports report. Before he began, he talked with Todd and Tyler about the piece he filmed for the KM3 news last night featuring Billy, a.k.a. Buddy Holly from the Funny Bone show. He then provided the sports report, which included a lot of talk about this weekend’s Creighton game. Travis also commented on Crouch’s statement about how he’ll just go play for Canada because his country doesn’t want to let him play football. Keep in mind that Attaboy is doing his ‘’For What It’s Worth’’ commentary on KM3’s 10pm newscast tonight.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning with a commentary on last night’s Grammy awards. He seemed to focus his attention on the mammoth-like size of Aretha Franklin, who Tyler said ‘’looked like she was wrapped in a cloud.’’ We’ll hear more from Larry later in the week so stay tuned.

Todd and Tyler took a few minutes to talk about the upcoming Basketball Batchelor double date they’re putting together for BW and Lester scheduled for next Monday. None of the ladies who offered up photos for preview last week sent anything in yet. Surprise. TnT decided to call one of the possible contestants from last week, the hot Dominican lady. As it turns out, she has family coming to town next week and won’t be able to go on the double date after all. Following that disappointing news, TnT opened up the phone lines and interviewed a few other possible contestants for the Basketball Batchelor double date. As soon as some photos are submitted, BW and Lester will firm up their selection.

Tim Northern and Paul Weiss from the Funny Bone stopped in this morning and spent a few hours hanging out with Todd and Tyler. They had a great weekend of shows at the Bone. The pair joined in on the topics of the day, discussed getting hammered with the Fish Heads last night, and mentioned that they’re going to Lincoln this evening to get drunk and possibly jump on stage briefly at a club on 14^th and O Street. The two also joined in on the twisting off for baseball card conversation when TnT reset it a bit later in the program.

BW returned later in the show with this morning’s e-news segment. To start it off, TnT brought in Jose from the Spanish speaking station 97.7. They discussed some of the ‘’Spaniard’’ related Grammy categories from last night’s award show, playing a piece of one rock song that didn’t sound incredibly terrible. They then moved on to the more mainstream categories and discussed what they saw. From the sounds of it, that little hottie Norah Jones swept the ceremony. Following the Grammy talk, TnT spent some time discussing the dynamics of doing Paul McCartney’s 1-legged wife doggy style before moving into a conversation about the top 10 sexiest men in entertainment. As they read through the list, they agreed with some and disagreed with others. And if it wasn’t ‘mo enough covering the top 10 sexiest men in entertainment, Todd and Tyler continued the discussion by coming up with their own lists of not only the top 10 sexiest brotha’s in entertainment, but also the top 10 sexiest Asians in entertainment. It was hilarious.
