TnT Show 02-28-2003

Friday 2-28-03

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning with some talk about last night’s dodge ball game in Hamburg, IA. With another great turnout, the school was able to raise around $4500 by hosting the dodge ball game. Some of the listeners that showed up to see the 5-1 victory by the Todd and Tyler All Stars checked in this morning to discuss the game. Todd and Tyler also took a few moments early in their show to analyze the performances of those on their own team. They also awarded the two referees, Midget Brian and Slave Boy Chris, with the Weak Ass Bitch wristbands.

Also early in the show, TnT phoned yesterday’s Vegas trip winner, Bill. This will be his second time going to Vegas with Todd and Tyler, as Bill was the guest of one of last year’s winners, Child Prodigy. Bill isn’t returning the favor to his buddy, though, opting to take his wife with him instead. Following their conversation, TnT gave out a hint or two about today’s Vegas songs to listen for before they moved on.

BW joined the guys in studio and after some talk about last night’s dodge ball game, he delivered this morning’s news. His first story, though, was a showstopper, literally. After BW completed reading the first story, both Todd and Tyler basically said, ‘’What the hell did you just say?’’ Brian’s story selection to lead off the newscast, something about a file cabinet on consignment, made both sides of Todd and Tyler’s collective brain shut down. The guys couldn’t decide which was worse, the content making up the story or the way it was boringly written. Their reaction was absolutely hilarious. After dwelling on how terribly uninteresting and unnecessary that story was, the gang moved on to talk about massively inflated MUD bills, a tale of a mummified body in Chester, a story of a creepy guy from TX selling the fingernails of cadavers, and TnT talked about a variety of other stories in the news, too.

Todd and Tyler spoke to the king of all creatures, Jack Hannah. As usual with a visit from Jack, the structure of the conversation was all over the board. The gang talked about places Jack has been recently and plans to go to next, what he does for vacation, the animal life in Iraq, going into salt caves with elephants, alligator avoidance, doing Letterman’s show, and how un-hot Kate Hudson is in person. It was another great visit with Jack Hannah. I’m sure Todd and Tyler will speak to him again in the future so stay tuned.

Travis came in a bit later in the show and talked with Todd and Tyler about his adventures in being attacked by police dogs yesterday. Evidentially, no one else at KM3 wanted to put on the puffy suit and get taken down by killing machines so Trav stepped up to the plate for his station and volunteered. He told TnT all about putting on the 80 pound suit and sprinting away from the dog before the creature latched onto his arm and took him to the ground, destroyed any sense of integrity Attaboy ever had. And if doing it once wasn’t bad enough, Travis said he had to do it a second time in order to make sure they got a good take on film. Because of the two sprints and being whipped around like a chubby Woodsy the Owl doll, Travis puked his guts out (which consisted of 3 strawberries) and was caught on camera.

After the tale of the police dogs, Travis mentioned a couple of activities he’s doing this weekend. On Saturday night he’s going to be out at the Ice House hosting a boxing match watching party from 7-9pm. TnT opened up the phone lines giving 4 listeners the chance to win some free beer and seats by Travis for the event. A lady named Megan was awarded the prize after the gang talked to several contestants. Travis went on to say that he will be hosting a NASCAR party at Hooters on Saturday from 1-3pm, too.

Travis eventually got around to doing this morning’s sports report, which included a list of the top 10 toughest things to do in sports. As he read through the list, the gang discussed each of the tough things to do and analyzed their worthiness to appear on the list. Listeners checked in, too, with their own suggestions and analysis. Travis also read a bunch of humorous quotes that have been mentioned in the sports world by various broadcasters. They were quite funny and sparked some more phone calls from listeners who shared silly things they’ve heard sports announcers say.

Monday night is the big Basketball Batchelor double date with BW and Lester. This morning, Todd and Tyler helped the two lonesome men select whom they would be going out with. Basically, all of the women who wanted to go on the date (3 pairs) got their names put into a slurpy cup and a winners, Deanne and Amy, were pulled out of the proverbial hat. TnT spoke to Deanne after her victory and gave her some details on exactly what she can expect from the date. I’m sure we’ll hear a bit more about this on Monday morning and Tuesday following the big date.

J Medicine Hat from the Funny Bone was scheduled to stop by the studio this morning and hang out with the guys for a bit. But, upholding his record as the guy who has blown off Todd and Tyler in person the most, Hat didn’t show up today. Todd and Tyler speculated that Hat being MIA today might have had something to do with the anniversary of Wounded Knee. As they discussed Hat’s absence, a listener e-mailed TnT the historical facts of Wounded Knee, which they then shared with us all. Perhaps Medicine Hat will stop in on Monday to pimp his x-rated show. Feel free to call the Funny Bone at 493-8036 for your Indian reservations.

BW returned late in today’s show with the e-news segment. It began with a little talk about Letterman’s eye infection, the gang moved on to discuss Starbucks Playboy models, and BW read a forwarded e-mail about the types of TV shows one might expect to find on Iraq TV. BW then read over a list of the top 10 drug movies of all time. Much to their surprise and disappointment, ‘’Blow’’ didn’t appear on the list. Then, to wrap up the e-news, the gang talked about this morning’s ‘’Who the hell is that?’’ honorable mentions and both Brian and Todd shared what can only be described as the world’s worst Gilbert Godfrey impersonations.

Well, that’s it for the Friday update. Tune in on Sunday night at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay of this morning’s show and make sure you rejoin Todd and Tyler at 5:30am on Monday for yet another week of stellar programming. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
