TnT Show 03-03-2003

Monday 3-3-03

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by talking about their weekends. Todd made a trip out to the Lancer game on Friday, both the guys watched Creighton play on TV Saturday, and the gang played a round of ‘’Where’d you eat?’’ detailing all of the fine dining they enjoyed over the weekend. The guys then moved on to talk about the stabbed Pit Bull story that was all over the local TV news last night. Nearly every news station put video of the dead dog on, something we all could have done without. TnT didn’t have any sympathy for the dead animal but they just didn’t find it necessary to show the video on TV. From there, TnT moved on to war talk, which led to a funny conversation about the French Foreign Legion ‘’mullet hats’’.

Also early in the show, Todd shared a story from his weekend. Without giving too much detail, as there may or may not be a court order involved, Todd got a couple of phone calls on Saturday from a lady he didn’t know. It seemed to him, and Tyler agreed as they talked about it today, that the calls were of a ‘’lets get Todd in trouble with his wife’’ nature. The first call came in on the cell phone with a second call a few hours later coming into Todd’s home phone. He was able to track down the number from which the calls came from and again he wasn’t able to offer up any details on it because there as there may or may not be a court order involved. Todd, a reformed man, didn’t do anything wrong but as he seemed to understand, the calls did put him in the hot seat with his wife. There was some further discussion on the subject, Tyler shared the ‘’Call me when she leaves’’ tale among others, and even thought the phone lines were open on the subject, not many listeners wanted to check in with their ‘’getting snagged’’ stories.

BW came in with the news a bit later in the program. Before the guys dove into it, they spent some time talking about movies. BW went to ‘’Old School’’ over the weekend and said it was quite funny. The guys then talked about the length of ‘’Gods and Generals’’ and pondered aloud whether movie theaters still do intermission during long movies. The gang then got into the news portion of the show in which they discussed dog fighting, ultimate fighting, and BW’s frozen snot ride on his new Harley over the weekend. The gang also had a lengthy coal mining conversation, with memories being shared by Pennsylvania native Tyler as well as listeners who remembered what it was like having a basement full of coal.

After the news, Todd and Tyler phoned Friday’s Vegas trip winner, Travis. He said he’s going to take his buddy with him even though he has a girlfriend. Todd and Tyler said he’d probably have more fun with his friend anyway. Following their talk, TnT gave a hint or two about today’s Vegas tunes to listen for.

BW and Lester are scheduled to go on their Basketball Batchelor double date with Deanne and Amy tonight. It is going to be the last night Creighton plays in the Civic so the gang spent some time discussing Civic memories. They also mentioned that they want to see some ‘’Larry House, take care of / bang my daughter’’ signs on Fox Sports Net tonight, as they’ll be televising the game. TnT offered up $100 to the first listener to get their sign on TV, with minor prizes to anyone following. By the way, the two ladies who are supposed to double date BW and Lester tonight didn’t bother to check in this morning, and Todd and Tyler weren’t able to get them on the phones. Tune in tomorrow to see if the date was a bust.

The guys have been working on getting the black cop from HBO’s ‘’6 Feet Under’’ on their show. The actor, not gay in real life, is in a gay relationship with one of the undertaker brothers on the show and there are frequent scenes with the two actors passionately sucking face. With that in mind, Todd and Tyler wondered how a straight actor can That led into a further discussion about other movies and TV shows that have gay characters being played by straight guys. TnT opened up the phone lines and listeners checked in with straight actors who have had on-screen gay kisses, movies with gay scenes, and more. The topper of the conversation, though, was when the guys rhetorically asked if their buddy turned gay and wanted to give them a Diekman, whether they’d let him. TnT had a listener on the line at the time and after hearing the question, he blurted out ‘’F-bomb no’’. The guys had to bleep him but it was still funny.

Travis came in with this morning’s sports report a little later. He shared some memories of the Civic arena with Todd and Tyler before diving into today’s sports report. I believe Monday night is ‘’For What It’s Worth’’ night on KM3’s 10pm newscast so if you’re interested in hearing what Travis has to say, check that out this evening.

J Medicine Hat and Josh Sneed from the Funny Bone came in this morning and hung out with Todd and Tyler for the remainder of the show. Hat explained that he had his very own ‘’wounded knee’’, which caused him to miss TnT’s show last Friday. After that explanation, TnT reset Todd’s phone call story from earlier in the show. Hat then shared a variety of stories with the guys. He talked about some law suits he’s been in regarding things that have happened while on stage, he discussed recent things that have happened to him while performing, there was some Arkansas chatter, J shared what it’s like banging two Chinese women, there might have been a ‘’powder’’ reference or two, we found out that Hat’s insured by some Clown Institute (seriously), and much more. It was yet another enlightening visit with the Rock-n-Roll hypnotist. Please keep in mind that there is no show at the Bone tonight. The X-rated show is taking place tomorrow. Call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 for reservations to see J Medicine Hat and Josh Sneed this week.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning and delivered a commentary on how the human shields in Iraq have pulled out citing ‘’safety concerns’’. Everyone found that rather amusing and Cable Guy’s commentary on it today was great. Stay tuned for more from Larry as the week moves on.

BW returned late in the show with today’s e-news segment. He read over a variety of stories, which TnT, Hat, and Josh discussed before hitting today’s Obscure Dead Guy Of The Day. This morning’s dead guy was the man who wrote the lyrics to ‘’On Top Of Spaghetti’’. The gang then went off on a tangent about the lyrics to the ‘’When you’re sliding into home and your pants are full of foam, Diarrhea’’ song. From there, BW read a list of the top 10 chick flicks. The guys weren’t surprised that ‘’Beaches’’ was #1 but they felt that ‘’Gone With The Wind’’ shouldn’t have been on the list because that’s a great movie for everyone, not just those with a pie. Then, to wrap up the e-news and today’s show, Brian read over a list of the best headlines of the year 2002; most of which were pretty funny.

Todd and Tyler are going to be out at the Ice House tomorrow night to celebrate Fat Tuesday, the pre-Mardi Gras party. They are going to give us all details on the event during tomorrow’s show so make sure you tune in.

That does it for the Monday update. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay of this morning’s show and make sure you rejoin Todd and Tyler tomorrow at 5:30am for the Tuesday program. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
