TnT Show 04-23-2003

Wednesday 4-23-03

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by mentioning that they have put the wheels in motion with the police regarding their recently received threatening letter from Battle Creek Bob. The guys were scheduled to meet with a police officer a bit later in the show (off air) and it is clear that threats made to them or their family members are absolutely not something Todd, Tyler, or the radio station will tolerate. From there, the gang moved on to talk about last night’s ‘’American Idol’’ show, mentioning that the best singer is the big brother and the worst is the marine. The guys then wondered aloud why that marine was still on the show and not fighting with the rest of the US Troops over in Iraq.

The guys then moved on to discuss Trav’s commentary on TV last night. They seemed a bit confused about it, though, because before Channel 3 went to Travis with his commentary on the Red Robin story, the other reporters did several sports-related stories. TnT wondered why Travis didn’t do those stories. They opted to bring that up later in the show when Trav came in and instead shifted their topic of conversation to the Red Robin story itself. They talked of Chuck getting charged with disturbing the peace and wondered why he didn’t get the 3rd degree sexual assault charge thrown at him as well.

BW came in with today’s newscast and joined in on TnT’s earlier discussion of last night’s confusing ‘’sports without the sports guy doing it’’ Channel 3 newscast. Then Todd and Brian argued about the price of pot for a bit. Todd was focusing on the quality of pot for his drug calculator calculations, something that drastically changes his final outcome. BW just couldn’t seem to grasp that concept, though, yelling at Todd whenever he mentioned ‘’skunk weed’’. Potheads lit up the phone lines to help stop the argument but the guys didn’t want to hear from them and consequently didn’t take any of their calls.

Also during the news, the gang got into a conversation about space due to a story about the recent shuttle explosion. Tyler asked, ‘’How far is it to the space?’’ Todd, obviously stunned by the question and wondering how he could go from drug calculator mode to space travel calculator mode, replied with a hilarious, ‘’Wow.’’ I laughed so hard that a mole fell off of my face. And speaking of moles falling off of your face, BW did a story about how the oldest women in America just died. That prompted a call from a regular listener who told the guys that when she was in her 20’s, she went to a nursing home to visit her old grandma. While the family was sitting around talking with her as she played solitaire, a nickel-sized mole that had always been on her face just decided it was time to cash in it’s chips. The damn thing fell right off of the old woman’s face! BW then attempted to wrap up the newscast with a heartwarming tale of a mentally challenged woman being gang raped but luckily the conversation that immediately followed went the down the path of ‘’mole falling off a face’’ instead of ‘’Corky gang raped’’.

Travis came in with today’s sports report and his ‘’For What It’s Worth’’ commentary from last night’s KM3 newscast. Just for the record, ‘’For What It’s Worth’’ will now be known as FWIW in the updates. If it’s going to be a daily mention, a shorter description is in order. The gang asked Travis about why other reporters for the station were doing the integrated sports stories instead of himself, a question that I’m not sure Trav answered. Travis then read over his commentary and after concluding, he talked with TnT about Sigerson being charged. Following that, Trav went on with today’ sports report.

The host of Cornhusker Inside Her, Jimmy stopped into the studio this morning and hung out with TnT for a bit. His co-host, Aaron Taylor, also phoned in to join in on the Husker discussion. There was a lot of talk about the upcoming season, coaching changes, and insurance sales. You can catch the Cornhusker Inside her on 1490am tonight.

Larry the Cable guy checked in this morning with a hilarious commentary on having to get a root canal. It consisted mostly of a list of things he’d much rather have to do and none of them were very pleasing either (funny, though). Tune in as the week progresses for more from Larry the Cable Guy and keep in mind that you can pre-purchase tickets to see Larry at the Funny Bone right now by calling 493-8036. He’ll be in town in the middle of May.

Todd Barry from the Funny Bone joined TnT this morning. He’s been on Letterman and Conan a bunch of times so he shared some tales about that. Todd joined in on the topics of the day and seemed to fit in very well with the flow of the show. He was even surprised at some of the words TnT could get away with saying. For information on Todd’s career, check out his web site at Todd Barry. He was absolutely great on the show this morning so I strongly suggest you call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 to make reservations to see him this week. Keep in mind that tonight is another Z-92 night at the Funny Bone. The cost to get in this evening is only $5 and all proceeds are going to the Heartland Family Fund to support the families of troops overseas fighting in the war.

BW returned later in the show with today’s e-news segment. During which, he and Todd Barry got into a lengthy, heated argument over which is better, an Arby’s Beef’n’Cheddar or the old McDonalds McDLT. The gang then shared some more gay 3-some talk, which led to Jeremy informing everyone of what a ‘’Lucky Pierre’’ is (guy inserted, guy inserted, guy twisting chain of naked manly love with the Lucky Pierre being the middle man). The gang then played a bit of ‘’6 degrees of separation’’ and found out that they were able to place nearly everyone on the ‘’Who the hell is that’’ list within 6 degrees of comedian guest Todd Barry. And before wrapping up today’s show, the guys answered questions from a quiz BW provided about the year 1982.

Make sure to get out to the Funny Bone to see Todd and Tyler hosting Todd Barry’s appearance tonight for another Z-92 night at the Bone. It’s $5 to get in and all proceeds are going to the Heartland Family Fund. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay and make sure to rejoin TnT tomorrow at 5:30am for their very busy Thursday program. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
