TnT Show 05-01-2003

Thursday 5-1-03

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning with some talk about their evenings. Todd went to the gym so he didn’t get to see much TV. Tyler, though, checked out American Idol (stressing again that the redneck marine needs to be booted) and West Wing. They also mentioned Trav’s FWIW commentary from last night that was about a priest that got in trouble for bringing a gay man to speak to a bunch of catholic schoolboys at Prep. The guys then took a call from their groom, Bill. He informed the guys that he hasn’t filed for divorce from Kiri yet but has called the lawyers to find out about the procedure so things can get underway once they all return from Vegas. Bill also told the guys that he isn’t planning on staying with Kiri in the same room at the Hard Rock. He’s bringing a girl of his own who happens to have a room at the Stratosphere.

Also early in the show, TnT took a phone call from a lady who told them that she had mailed them a photo of her 16-year-old daughter. The lady seemed nice enough but just came across really out of it. She started drifting and talking about posing nude for Def Leppard and then she sang a big Mr. Mister tune. It was quite funny, yet sad at the same time. Before letting her go, the guys asked her if there were any sharp objects or alcohol around, which she said there weren’t. Then after the call, Tyler pointed out, ‘’This is what we get when they close down Richard Young.’’

BW came in with today’s news a bit later. He joined in on TnT’s earlier conversation about Travis’s FWIW last night, which centered on Catholic this, Catholic that. The gang also talked about what KM3 is doing with Travis in general, seemingly voicing some worries that the ending of the official sports report can’t be good for Trav even though he’s still doing nightly FWIW. The gang then moved on to talk about a 26-year-old Malvern coach who was busted for allegedly humping on a 17-year-old, allegedly. The guys didn’t seem to have a problem with it, though, because she was above the age of consent. They assumed that the reason he got fired was for a breach of the morals clause in his contract.

Also during the news, TnT phoned Trisha Meuret of Channel 7 to talk about how the man who was recently released from prison after 25 years is now in the pokey. She was in her jammies, which led to a little hot jammies talk with TnT. She also informed the guys that BW has seen her in her jammies and after pulling it out of Brian, we found out that BW actually slept in Trisha’s bed one night after a drunken evening of bar hopping. Trisha claimed to have slept on her couch but no one seemed to buy it. Following their talk with Trisha, the news continued. Interesting points to note include a story about a Samaria mom, an 80-year-old bus driver crashing, and there was a great story about ‘’shuttle worms’’ that survived the recent crash.

Tim Butts from the ACLU phoned TnT this morning and talked with them for a bit about the new law suit the ACLU is bringing against that anti-gay 416 law that was passed a few years ago. He detailed what has happened sense the law went into effect and explained why it has taken the ACLU 30 months to finally find a way to knock that sum’bitch off the books. He also talked with TnT about a settlement in the case against the Sarpy County police department that stemmed from an undercover TV report about how difficult it is to lodge a complaint about an officer.

Clete Blakeman and Biker hottie Rozz joined TnT in studio this morning, as did Sara, a representative from Famous Dave's. They’re all going to take part in a poker run on May 26th for Willy Theisen’s birthday. The run begins at the downtown Famous Dave’s at 11th and Harney and will end up at the Anchor Inn. All proceeds will go to the Tommy Craft Memorial Fund and the Hope Center. For information, you can phone 960-0206. TnT actually phoned Willy Theisen this morning to talk to him about the event. He was on his way to Kansas City for a restaurant opening (I believe). Anyway, he talked with TnT about all the crap they’ve given him over the years, which he actually seemed to love, and discussed the Birthday Bash poker run in his honor.

Rozz also made the official announcement that she is doing the Midwest Motorcycle Raffle again this summer. They are going to sell just 350 tickets at $100 each, which will be available at the Red Eye, all Eddy’s, the Harley shop off of 72nd and L Street, and I believe at the Anchor. If you win, you’ll actually have your choice of 5 different machines this year but because I know less about bikes than I do about social interaction, I didn’t write any of them down. The conclusion of this summer’s bike giveaway will be on September 13th down at the Anchor, and for all of you Husker freaks, yes, that’s the Penn. State game. I’m sure the lovely Rozz will be joining the guys in studio again as the summer goes on so stay tuned for all the latest information about her event.

Travis came in with today’s sports report and last night’s FWIW commentary. After ding the sports, the gang spent some time talking about Trav’s Catholic good commentary from last night. They all discussed the church’s point of view when it comes to gays and Trav surprised everyone by saying that he doesn’t believe homosexuals are made, they’re born (or something to that effect). He wouldn’t repeat it, however. Also during his time with the guys, they played him the phone call from the whacked out lady who sent them a photo of her daughter from earlier in the show. Trav agreed that the lady has issues.

J Medicine Hat stopped in this morning and hung out with the guys for a bit. I don’t know what it was but J was absolutely on fire this morning. He started off his visit by talking about his recent knee surgery. Then he went off and angrily ranted about his redneck wife Tracy and how he can’t stand some of the things she says and does lately. It was hilarious. He then went off on Tracy’s dog, a little bugger that eats Cheetos, drinks coffee, and pukes orange on his bed as well as pisses on his shirts. Hat also talked about the flamboyant gay neighbors he has before moving on to a story about going to see Billy Bob Thornton’s dead brother’s grave. He then told TnT a story about buying some hay for his horses from an old KKK guy. It was yet another priceless visit with J Medicine Hat. If you missed it, you can catch him at the Funny Bone by calling 493-8036.

BW returned later in the show with today’s e-news. The gang discussed pop star haircuts, creepy humping movies, and what it might be like to watch, ‘’Brian’s Eyes Wide Shut’’. The gang then discussed ‘’sport pie’’ and porn stars, Madonna farts, and there was more talk about Billy Bob, including discussion of the hot scene in ‘’Monster’s Ball’’ where he’s banging Hally Berry

Well, that does it for the Thursday update. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay and rejoin TnT tomorrow at 5:30am as they wrap up yet another week of outstanding broadcasting. Keep in mind that because TnT will be in Vegas for the first part of next week, tomorrow is the last live show for 5 days. Don’t miss it! Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
