TnT Show 05-12-2003

Monday 5-12-03

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by playing the latest Bret Michaels solo effort, ‘’Rain’’. The guys both seemed to like the tune but seemed uncomfortable at the thought of offering up a quote about it for a national trade publication for the radio business as Bret asked them to do. From there, the guys talked a bit about their weekends and how they each dealt with Mother’s Day. They also played ‘’Where’d you eat?’’ Tyler then mentioned that he received a bunch of hate e-mails because of his anti-smoking stance during a conversation on Friday’s show.

BW came in with the news a bit later in the program. He joined Tyler in the fight against smoking and actually came across even more militant than Tyler did. Tyler seemed quite happy to have someone in the room to back him up after the verbal pummeling the smokers gave him on Friday. After the two discussed smoking for a bit, they moved on to some talk about some local news stories from over the weekend. Somehow, bear testicles came up during conversation, as did horse racing (and horse testicles, for that matter). Following that, the gang discussed lizard head salads and ham salad sandwiches with Band-Aids in them. TnT also spent quite a bit of time talking about the President’s visit to Omaha today. They both agreed that the company hosting the President’s visit, Air-Light Plastics, is screwing their employees by making them take a holiday or make up hours if they want to attend the President’s speech this afternoon. TnT thought that the employees should be able to go without getting penalized for it.

Travis came in a bit later with this morning’s sports report. During his visit, TnT talked about Travis on the cover of the TV guide section of Sunday’s newspaper and discussed the article Trav wrote inside about the sports report changes over at KM3. They were bummed that he didn’t mention their show, but seemed to understand that the changes in the KM3 newscast as it relates to Trav and sports really didn’t have much to do with their show so they let it slide. He did this morning’s sports report, talked a little FWIW reaction, and then went over a list of the top 10 sports villains of all time. Everyone seemed to agree that OJ, who took #2 on the list, should have been #1. He did, after all, allegedly hack the heads off of two people. They all agreed that Ty Cobb, #1, was a dick but he didn’t cut anybody’s head off.

Early in the show, TnT played a voice mail left to them from a guy named Mike. He claimed to be the husband of the woman who TnT’s in-studio groom Bill went to Vegas with. TnT tried to call Bill early but were unable to get in touch with him. He later called back to discuss the situation, though and while TnT had him on the phone, they called Mike as well. Mike didn’t seem pissed at Bill for being the guy currently taking care of his wife. In fact, he seemed humorously amused, stating that he could tell Bill some tips for handling the woman. At one point in their awkward conversation, Mike said to Bill something along the lines of, ‘’She was still sleeping with me when she was with you!’’ It was hilarious, yet Bill’s nervous sounding laugh led everyone to assume he didn’t agree. The saga continued much later in the show when Donna, the wife of Mike and current girlfriend of Bill, who married Kiri just weeks ago on the Todd and Tyler show, phoned TnT. Check out the end of today’s update for a piece of that conversation.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning and delivered a commentary that centered on taking his mom out for a BBQ pork sandwich for Mother’s Day and her not getting to eat one because there were a bunch of other fat mothers at the buffet. Larry also reminded everyone that he’s in town at the Funny Bone this week and as of this morning, there are still a few tickets left for the Thursday shows. Call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 for reservations.

J Medicine Hat phoned TnT this morning and told the guys that for the second time in about a year, his daughter had a car stolen from her. This time, the car was taken from the Target parking lot on Maple Street. After sharing the story and mentioning his plans to buy her a new used vehicle, Hat mentioned that there are still tickets available for tonight’s x-rated show at the Funny Bone. Call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 and see if they’re still available now.

Jim Cantore from the Weather Channel’s ‘’Storm Stories’’ checked in this morning from his home in Atlanta. He was recently in Missouri during the twister-fest last weekend so he spent some time talking with TnT about the ‘’perfect’’ conditions that all came together leading to the big storm. He also described the boundaries of ‘’Tornado Alley’’ and reminded everyone that this part of the country is in tornado season until June. He then went on to describe some of the destruction he witnessed while in Missouri and Oklahoma recently. Believe it or not, Jim gave up a golf vacation to go chase that particular storm. Jim also talked with the guys about a 6-hour limo ride he took while trying to get from Missouri to Oklahoma City in time to get some footage for the next morning’s early Weather Channel broadcast. That then led into a tale about two redneck women who came out of their house with shot guns and asked Jim and his crew not to tell anyone their address on TV. It was yet another interesting conversation with Jim Cantore. I’m sure we’ll be hearing from him again in the near future so stay tuned.

BW returned later in today’s show with the e-news segment. The gang discussed Roger Moore’s James Bond flix, sack shaving, a little ‘’Who the hell is that?’’, skin graphed forearm thumbs that can finger diddle, and there was another twisted story about a Vietnamese woman who cut off half of her husband’s throck. Also before wrapping up the e-news and their show for the day, Todd and Tyler spoke to Donna, their groom Bill’s current girlfriend. Her husband was the one who called in earlier in the show and spoke with Bill and TnT. She disputed her husband’s claims that she was sleeping with him at around the same time she was banging Bill, getting upset at BW when he said ‘’So you’re not a whore?’’ repeatedly. She didn’t have much else to say so the guys let her go, obviously allowing more time for the saga to develop further.

Well, that’s it for the big Monday update. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay of this morning’s show and make sure to rejoin Todd and Tyler tomorrow at 5:30am for the Tuesday program. It sounds like they’ve got a hefty slate tomorrow, too, so don’t miss it. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
