TnT Show 05-21-2003

Wednesday 5-21-03

Todd and Tyler started off the show this morning with a little talk about last night’s NYPD Blue episode. Several officers were shot and TnT speculated about who will be returning next season. The gang moved on to discuss Trav’s FWIW commentary about teen sex last night and were quite amused because, ‘’like Travis is such an authority on teen sex.’’ They also touched on some of the reaction Trav received about the Todd Sears pension commentary from earlier this week. Todd then spent a few moments discussing how his daughter recently got her learner’s permit and shared the growing fear he has about his daughter being behind the wheel. And before moving on to the newscast, TnT discussed yet another idiot’s letter to the paper about casino gambling in Nebraska. They, once again, had to point out that casinos are HERE ALREADY!

BW came in with the news a bit later in the show. There was more talk about the crack head hotel on Dodge, the gang discussed the Field Club situation and how it affects no one they know or care about except for friend of the show, Child Prodigy (who is a member). TnT then talked about some old Omaha politicians for a bit, a topic spawned by some talk of former mayor Hal Daub. Also during the news, BW didn’t leave out any of the death and destruction stories he’s become known for. There was talk of a train crash, BW reported on a baby that was eaten to death by ants, and he wrapped up the newscast with a story about a nut job that strangled his kids and then chewed on a lit firework, which consequently blew a whole in the roof of the tool’s mouth.

Blue House stopped by the show this morning and played a couple of tunes for TnT. They sounded excellent, as always. The gang spent some time discussing this Sunday’s big summer kick-off bash taking place down at the Anchor Inn. Blue House, among others like Groove Puppet, Lava Rockets, the Confidentials, and the Fish Heads will be performing all day long. After Joe suggested yesterday that each band cover a Zep tune, TnT brainstormed ideas about what Joe’s grumbly voice might be able to pull off as far as the Zeppelin catalog is concerned. Not only can you catch Blue House at the Anchor Inn on Sunday, but they’re performing at The Shark Club on Friday night and at McKenna’s on Saturday.

Dr. Ed joined Todd and Tyler this morning live from his basement in Tyler, TX. He spent some time discussing a variety of medical stories with TnT that touched on such things as Parkinson’s disease, West Nile, and people with extra butt holes. Dr. Ed also talked with the guys the different schedules the government has set up to categorize narcotics, a subject spawned by yesterday’s drug schedule discussion from late in the show. TnT found out that Dr. Ed has the ability to prescribe medical cocaine, if needed, and the doc explained the DEA’s roll in keeping track of what doctors prescribe.

Travis came into the studio while TnT were still chatting with Dr. Ed. He spent some time discussing his teen sex commentary from last night, which relates to the medical discussion in the fact that teens can spread STDs and teenage pregnancy is always a possibility. Travis expressed his belief that he just doesn’t think there’s ‘’that much’’ sex going on in high schools and then asked TnT if they thought he was naive. Todd and Tyler as well as Dr. Ed said that he indeed was. In fact, the guys opened up the phone lines and a large chunk of today’s show was spent talking about teenagers having sex, how abstinence doesn’t work, the problems with teen pregnancy, how kids today hand out Diekmans like Pez, and so on. Travis eventually got to sports, which included a list of the biggest sports whiners ever.

Todd and Tyler spoke to Steven Pearcy, formerly of RATT this morning. His current band, ‘’The Ratt Bastards’’ as he called it, has a bunch of local guys in it, guys of JRZ Systems. He discussed how well he gets along with some of the former members of the band and then moved on to talk about the current tour (and race cars). You can catch Steven in town tonight at the Music Box and they’ll be appearing in Fremont at the Sale Barn tomorrow.

BW returned later in the show with this morning’s e-news segment. During this time, the guys discussed J. Lo’s ass for quite a bit. They also spent some time talking about Nicole Kidman’s smoking habit. Due to a story on Alec Baldwin, the gang had a lengthy and disturbing discussion on the proper way to kill cows and whether or not there might be a more humane way to do it instead of plungering them in the skull with a giant metal bolt.

Well, that does it for today’s update. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay and make sure to rejoin TnT tomorrow at 5:30am for the Thursday edition of the Todd and Tyler show. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
