| Wookin Pa Nub ![]() ![]() | TnT Show 05-22-2003 Thursday 5-22-03 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning with a little talk about TV. The news has been freaking out over possible terrorist attacks lately due to the government raising the terrorist alert level so the guys spent a bit of time talking about how Nebraska doesnt have anything to worry about. They pointed out that, as far as population centers go, Nebraska doesnt have much. TnT then read over an e-mail from a listener regarding yesterdays teen sex talk. She shared some insight and then joked about how most young, vulnerable women will fall for nearly any sympathetic, sappy line like I think Im falling in love with you and Ive always wanted to be with you. TnT elaborated, slightly, and shared vague stories about their old days as younger guys who used similar lines to bag the babes. The gang then moved on to discuss bikers for a bit. Brian had a remote out at the Hooters last night and Tyler took his wife and daughter out to see BW. While there, Tyler noticed that BW was dressed up like a biker in the typical biker uniform, a pair of jeans and a black shirt. The gang joked about how a lot of guys play the roll of biker on the weekend and a caller later referred to those guys as RUBEs. Rich Urban Biker Executives, or something like that. A caller then checked in and said BW was more of a PUBE than a RUBE, replacing the Rich with Poor. TnT got a kick out of that. The guys then read over an e-mail from a listener regarding yesterdays humane ways to kill a cow discussion before moving on to the news. Brian joined the guys in studio and continued the biker discussion for a bit. BW pointed out that hes always been into bikes but it wasnt until recently that he was able to afford one. The gang speculated that a lot of the so-called RUBEs most likely shared the same story and that really didnt make them any less of a motorcycle enthusiast. When the news began, TnT discussed a deer that snuck into the airport through the spinning glass door. That was shortly followed up with a conversation in which BW advocated total anarchy as far as government is concerned. The gang also got into a lengthy discussion about libraries. Todd hit the net and cleared up a few things for everyone regarding the confusing Dewey Decimal System. Tyler then informed everyone that hes a published author. When he was in 5th grade, he wrote a story titled The Chimp and the Clown, which was bound and printed in a book that can be found in his elementary schools library. Also during the news, TnT touched on a brilliant idea for an invention. After a story about a wheelchair that was stolen at the mall, the guys somehow morphed the topic into trying to figure out a way to make a phoo powered wheelchair. That idea, formed by Tyler, was elaborated on further by Todd. He coined the phrase feces powered scooter. Although a disturbing thought, people crapping in their own wheelchairs and that crap being somehow turned into electrical power, the concept actually has promise. Although, I do doubt BWs contribution to the concept, a wheelchair engine cooling system that uses the operators own urine, will catch on. The news continued with a story about a parrot that escaped its home yet hung around its neighborhood. Shortly after its escape, the parrot was sitting in a tree when it spotted the dog of the same household walking along the street. The bird called the dogs name, which prompted the owner of the dog and parrot to spot the bird in a tree and later retrieve it. An interesting story, yet BWs delivery was humorously anti-climactic. He then wrapped up the news with yet another dead kid story. This one involved the bodies of 3 children in various stages of decomposition being found in a shed bought at some sort of auction. It turns out that the mother of the kids, and previous owner of the shed, had killed the kids and had been taking their bodies all over as she moved from place to place. Rozz joined Todd and Tyler in studio this morning to discuss the big poker run to celebrate Willie Theisens birthday that is taking place on Memorial Day. Willie Theisen also joined the guys in studio for the first time in show history. Willie shared a story or two, specifically about a trip he and some of his buddies took on the Concord. His gang of friends rented the supersonic jet and flew from Omaha to NYC in an hour. They then set off over the ocean and were able to make it to London in about 3 hours! TnT also hit Willie up for some cash in order further develop their crap-powered wheelchair idea. By the way, if you would like to take part in Willies birthday party poker run, they will be converging at the Old Market Famous Daves Monday at around 10am. The cost to enter the poker run is only $10 and all of the proceeds will go to the charities Rozz runs. Trav came in a bit later with todays sports report. The gang discussed his FWIW feedback regarding yesterdays teen sex talk. They then reread the earlier e-mail from a listener talking about cheesy lines that always work to get vulnerable teenage girls in the sack such as Ive always loved you. The gang then moved on to discuss last nights commentary about the woman golfer that is scheduled to play with the guys today. They discussed both sides of the story and took a few calls from listeners who wanted to share their opinions. Travis then set into motion one of the most amazing things weve ever heard on the Todd and Tyler show. He reported on a story about New York Giants coach Jim Fassel being reunited with a son he and his wife gave up for adoption 34 years ago. That story spawned quite a few phone calls from listeners that wanted to share their own reunited after an adoption stories. None of the stories could have prepared anyone for what was about to happen, though. Todd and Tyler took a phone call from a lady named Jill that told them her husband, Brendan has been looking for his biological mother for a few years now. She said that they knew her full maiden name as well as the name of his father but so far in their search, theyve run into dead ends. She gave the name of the biological mother and father out and mentioned that they graduated from Northwest High School sometime in the middle 70s. A few minutes later, the woman Jill had named, Janet, phoned the show and said that she was the mother. After confirming a few details, TnT seemed convinced it was her. This is great! she excitedly said. Shortly after, Brendan called the show and a mini-reunion took place over the phone. During that conversation, TnT invited both Brendan and Janet to the studio, both of them were actually quite close. Janet arrived first and gave the full details of the adoption. Shortly thereafter, Brendan arrived and the two embraced as they met each other for the first time. Scattered through the overwhelming joy of everyone in studio and in between various This is amazing! and I cant believe it! comments, the mother and son talked. Janet found out that her son is married and they have two children, which makes Janet a grandmother. Brendan found out that he has a full relation brother and sister. His sister phoned in and they talked briefly. His brother joined everyone in studio and much to everyones amazement, the two brothers looked incredibly alike. Janets ex-husband Jerry, Brendans biological father, also joined the guys in studio. TnT phoned Brendans wife Jill back and thanked her for calling the show, making this long-awaited meeting happen. They also took phone calls from other excited members of Brendans newly reunited family. Try to catch this on the 3rd Shift Replay or on an upcoming Best Of show because in all honesty, my description of what took place this morning is pitiful compared to what actually happened. It was truly the most amazing thing one could imagine. After years of searching for his real mother, it took one phone call to the Todd and Tyler show to find his biological mother and within a half hour, they were hugging and sharing their lives. The whole group discussed making plans to get everyone together to have both families meet each other, which will probably take place at some point over this extended holiday weekend. Jokingly, Tyler told Janet that she owes Brendan 27 years worth of birthday presents. She then said that Sunday is her birthday so she, too, is expecting a gift and everyone shared a laugh. They promised to keep in touch with the TnT show and fill them in on what transpires over the next few days so make sure you tune in for an update. Because of the amazing reunion, which you will be able to see on tonights KM3 newscasts, the e-news was cancelled. It was well worth it, though, to hear such a great story take place live on the air. Well, that does it for todays update. Im off to publish some photos of the reunion so if theyre not up by the time youve completed reading this update, check back soon. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
