| Wookin Pa Nub ![]() ![]() | TnT Show 05-27-2003 Tuesday 5-27-03 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by talking about the big summer kick-off bash at the Anchor Inn over the weekend. There were 6,000 people there and everyone seemed to have a great time. In sharing some of the details about the event, we found out that Todd passed out in the Chub, a guy nearly puked on Tylers car until Becky dropped an f-bomb on him, Tyler and Becky were supposed to give Black Tony a ride home and didnt realize until they were nearly home that they had forgotten him, and there was a report of a guy hit by a van in the parking lot (further details emerged later in the show). Also early in the show, TnT spent some time talking about the sound check concert that is going to take place at the new arena a week before its official opening concert. The concert will feature Grand Funk Railroad and the guys referred to it as a sound check show because it wont be open to the public. The folks running the arena are going to be giving out tickets to those who helped build the thing and the Grand Funk show is sort of a test to see how well a concert will sound in the new arena before they bring in the big act for the following weeks official opening. TnT speculated that there will be a lot of Hispanic drywallers with tickets they wont be using so they brought in Jose to find out exactly what How much will you give me for this stack of Grand Funk tickets? would sound like in Spanish. BW came in with the news a bit later on but before he began, he spent some time talking with TnT about the Anchor Inn party. At one point during the show, BW changed from his regular gear into his biker clothes and placed his other outfit in the Z van. Inside the pocket of his pants was the key to his bike. The van ended up leaving before Brian could retrieve his key but BW didnt realize he was keyless until several hours later. An intern from the station, nearly to his home in Fremont, had to go back to the station, get BWs key, and drive all the way back to the Anchor to deliver it to BW. Brian also spent some time discussing the next days poker run, which he participated in, that ended up down at the Anchor. Roz phoned in a bit later and talked with TnT about the amazing turnout for her event, which raised more than $11,000 for her charity, the Tommy Craft Memorial Fund. BW eventually got into the newscast. The gang discussed the sounds tornados make, there was a story about a 38-year-old schizophrenic grandma that may have tossed her grandson into a river (not local), and there was a disturbing story about a man from India that had his throck chopped off by the father and brothers of his new bride, obviously upset at him because he was hitching up with their sister/daughter. Travis came in and joined in on the Anchor Inn talk a bit later on. He talked about how Tyler pushed off a listener that was kind of bothering him onto Trav. The guy, obviously a postal worker, repeated over and over again that he sorts Tylers mail. A bit later, the guys got a phone call from the listener that ran over the guy in the Anchor parking lot with his van. He said he was ticketed for DUI and wreckless driving and felt bad about bonking the man with his van. Later, the guy who was hit phoned the show and spoke to TnT about the accident through a swollen face. The funniest part about the story, though, is that the guy who was run over ended up back down at the Anchor the following day for the poker run, puffy face and all. A bit later, Travis delivered this mornings sports report. There was a lot of talk about Kurt Dukes leaving the Huskers to go play for a team out East somewhere. The gang then discussed a little college baseball and the upcoming CWS that kicks off in just a few weeks. TnT also talked with Travis about how the domain name QwestArena.com has been purchased by MECA, leading everyone to believe that the telecommunications giant might be getting the naming rights to the new arena. Following that, the gang had a lengthy conversation about the sport La Cross. Tyler explained how the game is big on the East Coast and everyone seemed to agree that its much better than soccer. They took some phone calls from listeners who have played the game and wanted to share some details about it. Guitar guru Michael Kelsey stopped by the studio this morning and played a few amazing tunes for Todd and Tyler. Hes going to be performing at the Funny Bone tonight at 8pm. Tickets for the show are only $5. For reservations or tickets, phone 493-8036. Earlier in the show, during TnTs discussion of the Grand Funk show, the guys had Jose from the Hispanic station down the hall come into the studio and say, in Spanish, How much will you give me for this stack of Grand Funk tickets? Later, TnT called BW returned later in the show with todays e-news segment. The gang had a lengthy conversation about ordering pay-per-view movies via cable, Dish Network, and Direct TV, taking some calls from listeners with input as well. They then talked about a gay Bachelor type of show that Bravo is doing, there was a story about a man arrested in an airport that popped out his own eyeballs in protest, Steve-o from Jackass was busted for swallowing a condom full of pot somewhere in Europe, BW read over todays Who the hell is that? and TnT took a call from their Palestinian buddy Syed who told them that some Hispanic guys picked a fight with him in a grocery store, pissed because he beat up a Mexican man in South Omaha a few weeks ago and got on the news for it. Well, that does it for todays update. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay and make sure to rejoin the guys for what sounds like a very busy Wednesday edition of the Todd and Tyler show. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
