Friday 7-11-03

Todd and Tyler started off their Friday show by welcoming Black Tony to the studio. After discussing whether or not brothers can get sunburned, the gang moved on to mention this Saturday’s big Battle of the Bands taking place on Saturday at the Anchor Inn. From there, TnT mentioned that they got in a little trouble for this week’s Parade of Panties and for that reason, they wouldn’t be doing it today. Right after that, they took a few phone calls from ladies that were already on the way to the studio to strip to their bra and panties for free Z-Bash tickets. Not ones to disappoint, Todd and Tyler let a few ladies come up as long as they brought proper ID and signed some paperwork. This later turned into another all day event, as about 20 women stopped by throughout todays show to show off their underwear.

Also early in the show, TnT took a call from Ernie, an Army Reserve MP that is currently over in southern Iraq. He talked with the guys about his experience, stated he’d never hump on any of the local Iraqi women, told TnT he hasn’t been able to drink or get laid in 3 months, and then discussed the 129 degree weather. Ernie said that he has no official date set for his return to the states but he is looking forward to getting back to his job at the Kellogg’s plant. TnT then invited Ernie to stop by the station when he gets back into town.

BW came in with the news a bit later in the show. There was some discussion of yet another rock-off-a-bridge throwing incident, talk of the police leaving a death in the family notice on a lady’s answering machine, and BW reported on a story of 7,000 pounds of stolen steak. The gang also spent some time discussing the Missouri Power Ball winners, who said they are going to buy a new tractor and refrigerator with their winnings. This seemed to disgust TnT, as it is clear that these necks in MO have no concept of what winning 130 million dollars actually means. BW then wrapped up the newscast with a heartwarming story about a woman who swallowed a cockroach, tried to dig it out with a fork, swallowed the fork, and died.

Former Creighton Blue Jay baseball coach Jack Dahm phoned Todd and Tyler today and spent some time discussing the reason he left the Creighton program. He also told TnT about his new gig for Iowa University, described the excellent facilities he’ll have to work with, and seemed quite happy about the fact he’ll have 2 full-time assistants. Jack also talked with TnT about the front office gig with the Omaha Royals he was contemplating but his enthusiasm over his new Iowa gig made it seem like there wasn’t much of a decision to be made between the two jobs. Jack promised to keep in touch with the guys and may stop in before he officially leaves town.

Travis came in with this morning’s sports report. The gang spent some time discussing his FWIW commentary last night before moving on to the sporting news. Following that, Travis read over a very humorous list of weird mascot moments. As he read through each of the funny stories detailing things sporting team mascots have done, TnT discussed each (and remembered many).

Todd and Tyler spoke to Funny Bone headliner and BET superstar Bruce Bruce this morning. He was in the Atlanta airport on his way to Omaha to perform for the weekend. He wasn’t able to make it into town on time to join TnT in studio and because he was about to get on the plane, he wasn’t on the phone with TnT for very long but if any of you have caught Bruce’s act on BET, you know he’s one funny brother. And speaking of one funny brother, Todd and Tyler were joined in studio today by “Black Boy”. He’s appearing at the Funny Bone with Bruce Bruce all weekend. He joined in on the topics of the day and from the sounds of it, thoroughly enjoyed the girls in Todd and Tyler’s Parade of Panties. In fact, he even got the phone number of one of the girls and made plans to hook up with her after leaving the radio station. Before getting off the air, TnT called the girl who left him her number to confirm the hookup. Also during Black Boy’s visit to the show, he asked the guys if there were any sisters that listened to the show. He offered up free tickets to the Bone tonight for any Latino or black ladies who would come to the studio and participate in the Parade of Panties but by the time his request went out over the air, there wasn’t enough time left in today’s show for anyone to make it up to the station. Black Boy was great on the show today and I’m sure you’ll enjoy him at the Funny Bone all weekend long. Call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 for reservations.

BW returned later in the show with today’s e-news. After some discussion of a couple of rock artist related DVDs about to be put out, the guys talked a bit about ‘’honking on Bobo’’ and a Princess Di comic book idea that was scrapped. BW also read over a hilarious list of things that men over the age of 30 should never do. From there, he told us all about a 350 pound Asian woman that was nearly harpooned to death by a whaler off the coast of California when the guy on the boat mistook her for a whale. Following that, BW read over what he called “the greatest ‘And Finally’ ever’’. The story involved a man that lured underage girls to his home with the promise of them trying out a new face cream he was developing. Once there, he blindfolded them and then twisted off, strategically placing what he produced right where you think he would. The courts had to battle it out and decide exactly what laws he broke because they gave him permission, there was no indecent exposure because they were blindfolded and so on. In the end, the guy is spending 7 years in jail.
