| Straight Pimpin ![]() | TnT Show 07-15-2003 Tuesday 7-15-03 Todd and Tyler began their show this morning with some talk about yesterday’s start of the Sigerson/McPherson Red Robin trial. One of the lawyers involved wanted the judge to wear the robin costume and later danced around shaking his butt, imitating the red robin dance as described in the mascot training video. Claiming the dance was seductive, he was trying to prove that the teenage girl that was touched inappropriately somehow lured the men into their actions. TnT whipped out their copy of the Chicken Dance song and played it, joking about how imagining a big red bird dancing to the tune really made them hot. The guys then mentioned that Trisha Meuret from Channel 7 was in the courtroom and said they’d call her a bit later in the show to get her take on exactly what happened on day 1. BW joined the guys a bit later in the show. He spent a few minutes talking about a funky Spiderman “web fingers” cramp he got yesterday while moving a couch that had his hand contorted like the web slinger in action. And with the talk of the Red Robin trial and yesterday’s in-court chicken dance, the gang moved on to discuss wedding music and DJs, songs that suck, and how a band is always better than a DJ. TnT also took a few early morning calls from listeners that wanted to check in on the Red Robin trial as well as the DJ vs. band talk. Brian later got into today’s newscast, which had the guys talking more about libraries, Sigerson/McPherson’s trial, and Fast and Furious boats on the Missouri. They also had a follow-up to the story involving Dirty, the Lincoln pit bull. From the sounds of it, the killer animal has been put on death row with his execution postponed pending an appeal. The gang also spent some time discussing a rather confusing tax story and an even more confusing story about what cold war sirens are used for. BW brought things back together, though, with today’s “and finally” that featured a guy whacked out on hallucinatory drugs that decided it would be a good idea to chop off his own throck, cook the bear up in a frying pan, and eat it. Following the news, TnT were joined in studio by Midget Brian. He brought with him the latest issue of Playboy magazine featuring the fat Carnie Wilson. TnT spent a few minutes looking over the magazine and commenting on how they covered up her stomach staple surgery and extra floppy skin removal scars with a corset but all in all, she looked okay. The guys then moved on to discuss a casual sex article from the magazine that featured a bunch of statistics calculated when both men and women were asked about a variety of casual sex experiences. As they went through the casual sex survey, TnT spent some time pointing out where they fell in each of the categories. BW and Jeremy also joined in on the discussion. Travis, who showed up for this morning’s sports report, was brought into the conversation but as you might expect, he attempted to stay out of the casual sex conversation. TnT did their best to lure Trav into finally admitting on the air that his wife isn’t the only woman he’s ever been with but the king of Catholicism stuck by his guns even when stuck in a Catch 22 set up by the way one of the questions was worded. A bit later, TnT spoke to Trisha Meuret of Channel 7. She was in the courtroom yesterday during the Sigerson/McPherson Red Robin trial and shared her first-hand thoughts on the chicken dancing done by one of the attorneys. She said it was quite funny and throughout the day yesterday there were muffled laughs. She went on to say that there is plenty of room in the courtroom for people to come down and witness the trial first hand so if you’re in the area, stop by courtroom 20 in the Civic building. Trisha told TnT that she will be checking in every day as the trial continues so stay tuned for further details. After weaving his way out of Todd and Tyler’s casual sex talk from earlier in the show, Travis delivered this morning’s sports report. There was lots of MLB talk, the gang discussed their disliking of ESPN’s Sports Center, and no one seemed to like the idea of Rush taking part in the upcoming NFL season’s ESPN coverage. To close out today’s sports, Trav read over a list of famous athletes from Nebraska, North Dakota, Iowa, and Pennsylvania. TnT discussed the achievements of many of the athletes mentioned and nearly everyone was surprised at how many famous PA athletes there are. The people from the Shelter Belt Theater came by the show today to talk about their upcoming performances of “Tommy”, which begins on July 18th and runs every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8pm and every Sunday at 6pm for the next 4 weeks. They spent some time talking about why they chose “Tommy”, preparation for the play, and the cast involved in this production. After bringing in what sounded like 10 people and some musical equipment, they performed three amazing tunes from the rock opera and sounded great. For information and/or tickets, you can reach the Shelter Belt Theater by phoning 341-2757. BW returned later in the show with this morning’s e-news segment. The gang discussed a new Virgin Islands phone scam that’s charging people $2400 per minute. The premise of the scam is that there is a number left on your answering machine telling you of a sick friend or relative and to call a number beginning with 809 for information. That 809 number is evidentially the Virgin Island’s version of the US’s 900 #s and without your knowledge, you’re charged $2400/minute. Following that discussion, the gang moved on to discuss a variety of music-related stories, they talked about the Terminator possibly running for governor of California, there was some baseball talk, birthday talk, and the guys read over a few useless trivia questions. Well, that does it for the Tuesday update. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay of this morning’s show and make sure to rejoin the guys tomorrow at 5:30am for the Wednesday program. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
