TnT Show 07-18-2003

Friday 7-18-03

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by playing the Tony Bologna song “Free Dr. John”, which debuted on yesterday’s show. They tried to figure out a few of the lyrics from the tune and seemed to enjoy the “I gotta get a belly full of wine” line the most. The gang then moved on to talk about Trav’s FWIW last night in which he opined on old people driving. Also early in the show, Black Tony joined the guys in studio and hung out for a bit, the gang talked about last night’s TV interview with Ben Aflec and J. Lo, and TnT took a few calls from listeners that wanted to weigh in on the subjects of the morning.

BW came in with the news a bit later in the show. There was plenty more talk about the Red Robin trial and how the jury is supposed to make their decision today. TnT both speculated that the two involved in the trial will get off but they promised not to let the story go. BW also reported on a few Huskers in trouble, including Funder and Junior Tagoa’i. He then read a story about the lady busted for humping dogs at Baby Dolls a while back, which led to a conversation about an old bestiality porn Tyler once saw years and years ago while at a party. This topic morphed into a discussion about whether or not all chickens die after people have sex with them. Brian then reported that masturbation is good for you and followed that up with a story about a kid with Cerebral Palsy that was kicked in the head when a robber attempted to hurtle over his wheelchair.

Another news story that everyone found interesting today involved a parking garage in downtown Omaha off of 17th street. A lady has claimed that while she left her car at the garage, someone drove it around town. The person left cigarettes in the car, changed the radio station, and even put gas in it. A bit later in the show, she called Todd and Tyler to talk about it. She said that the radio was tuned to Z-92 by the thief, which TnT got a kick out of, and stated that the guy accused of taking her car for the joyride wasn’t even an employee of the parking garage.

Dave Rimington joined the guys in studio this morning. He’s in town doing one of his lineman football camps for kids and will be here and there for another week and a half or so. Dave joined in on the topics of the morning and spent the remainder of the show just hanging out with the guys.

Trav came in with this morning’s sports report. He also commented on his FWIW commentary last night. Backing up his statements with a variety of statistics, Trav detailed his ideas about having older drivers tested and stated that once they hit 90-years-old, they should hang their keys up altogether. TnT got a kick out of Trav’s statements and joked about how he pissed off all of the old people that watch KM3 by making such statements. One stat seemed to amaze everyone; Nebraska has 36 licensed drivers over the age of 100! He also talked a bit about the fuzzy face FWIW he did revolving around KM3’s coverage of the teenage girl in the Red Robin trial.

Todd and Tyler spoke to Trisha Meuret of Channel 7 again this morning. She’s been following the Red Robin trial all week and discussed the deliberation by the jury and awaiting today’s conclusion. She mentioned that Channel 7 plans to break into regular programming whenever the decision is announced. Trisha also told TnT that one of the lawyers mentioned masturbation in court yesterday and she then revealed that the group, referred to as “The Monkees” yesterday as we have found out, actually had a photo of them in the limo that night holding stuffed monkeys. Trish promised a wrap-up phone call on Monday so stay tuned.

Christine from Omaha Magazine joined TnT today and hung out for a little bit. Although she didn’t get much time on the microphone, she did tell TnT that the magazine featuring them on the cover has nearly sold out, empting one of their storage warehouses. She said you might still be able to find it at a local bookstore so if you haven’t gotten your copy yet, keep an eye out.

Billy, AKA Buddy Holly, joined TnT in studio today. During his visit, TnT played some past clips of Billy singing songs about humping on Travis. They then spent some time brainstorming ideas for a new song based on “The Monkees” theme tune. They wanted to morph it into something about the McPherson/Sigerson case so after tossing around a few ideas and taking suggestions from callers, Billy performed the new song. It was hilarious, yet it made Colleen from the Funny Bone a bit nervous as she felt people would confuse Billy’s performance of gay Travis tunes with what he will actually be doing on stage at the Funny Bone all weekend. To make it up to her, Billy did an actual tune from the show, sounding awesome. You can call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 to catch Buddy at the Bone all weekend.

BW came in a bit later in the show with today’s e-news. The gang discussed SARS-fest, BW read over one quick fact, and there was a lengthy sex offender list today. Oddly, there seemed to be a large number of perverts from the Columbus area, some of them Jeremy actually knows.

Before leaving the air today, Todd and Tyler talked to the owner of the new Lincoln Brewsky’s bar in Haymaker park. He described the new place and talked with TnT about their remote that will be taking place there tomorrow evening. If you’re in Lincoln, stop on out to the Haymaker park Brewsky’s tomorrow to see Todd and Tyler. There will be speed dating with August calendar hottie Monica so don’t miss the party!

That does it for the Friday update. Remember to join Todd and Tyler at the Haymaker Park Brewsky’s tomorrow evening and you can catch BW at the Red Eye on Sunday afternoon hanging out with the Geranimals motorcycle crowd. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
