TnT Show 07-24-2003

Thursday 7-24-03

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by talking about BW and Big Pussy’s trip to the American Dream Girls club last night. Brian joined them early on and talked about the 30 new women who now work for the club, described the “pasties” made of flesh colored tape the girls wear over their nipples, and talked about getting tied to a pole and squirting some of the dancers in the crotch with a Super Soaker. He also described Midget Brian getting a lap dace along with another Z-92 staff member, a guy named Jamie that they have started to refer to as “Virg” because he’s a virgin. Not being able to imagine what it would be like to receive a lap dance from a hottie as a virgin, the guys figured they’d bring in Virg a bit later in the show.

Also early, TnT spent some time talking about Travis’s FWIW about the Catholic church’s problems in Boston and the recent report that more than 1000 kids were abused by more than 200 priests over a 40-year period. TnT also mentioned the Crouch FWIW feedback that aired last night. That led the guys to discuss a web link that was sent to them by a listener. The link took TnT to a Husker fan web page, which the guys read a few amusing Husker freak things from. They then read over a message from someone who had spent time in the jail down by the Anchor. The message said that the guys in jail love being able to hear the bands and they thoroughly enjoy the smell of BBQ that wafts their way.

BW then delivered this morning’s newscast. It included a story about a 15-year-old kid named Skyler that, while walking by a pool, heard screaming and ran to the rescue. He ended up pulling out of the bottom of the pool a 13-year-old girl and effectively saved her life. They took a call from a listener who knows the young hero and TnT told the guy they’d like to talk to the kid and give him some Z-Bash tickets for his good dead. That may take place tomorrow. The story led to some “I saved someone’s life” talk and phone calls from the listeners. BW then continued with the news reading over the other stories of the day including another Pit Bull story out of Lincoln. He then wrapped up the newscast with a heartwarming story of an 85-year-old man in a wheelchair that thumped his 83-year-old wife over the head with a pipe, a phone, and his shoe. “I’ve gone crazy”, he said to her. Well no S-bomb gramps.

A bit later in the show, Roz and Willie Thiessen joined TnT in studio. They’re doing another pre-Sturgis poker run on Sunday that will begin down at the Old Market Famous Dave’s and end up at the Anchor Inn later in the day. Registration is at 10am so head down there early if you’d like to participate. During their visit, the two talked with TnT about the upcoming Sturgis rally, changes in the rally over the past few years, and how there really isn’t a “family atmosphere” to Sturgis, contrary to recent reports TnT have taken from the phone lines. The two hung out for a while longer, joining in on the topics of the day, and then headed out. Before leaving, Roz mentioned that there are only 7 tickets left for her Harley giveaway contest for this summer so if you haven’t bought your ticket yet, get on it!

Trav came in with the sports report after all of the Sturgis talk. He discussed the Crouch related feedback on his FWIW commentary from the other day and speculated about the feedback he’ll receive regarding his commentary on the Boston Catholic Church scandal. He also went into the sports, which led to a lengthy discussion about various aspects of the Husker athletic department, how much money some of the sports are losing, and how without football, there would be nothing. The guys then spent some time on the Tour De France, which led to talk about local bike riders, trails, and where “bike geek” clothing and helmets could be purchased.

After the sports, Todd and Tyler brought in Marine Jessie Trost in studio. I may not be spelling the name right so feel free to correct me. Jessie is from Yutan and has just got back from his time in Iraq. He runs one of those mortar machines that fires giant rounds 5000 yards. He described his job as clearing the path for the troops that will come up behind him. He talked with the guys about his time in Iraq, their local culture, the funky “camel spiders” that sound like something out of a freaky movie, and talked about the “desolate and dirty” surroundings of the country. He also described what the troops do on downtime. “We played Spades and drank rum”. Although he did see actual combat, he didn’t have to shoot anyone with his rifle (although there seemed to be no doubt that the mortar equipment he operated had to have blasted the crap out of somebody). He also told the guys that he didn’t loose any of his fellow troops while over there, which made everyone happy to hear.

Recently promoted to Corporal, Jessie told TnT that he’s got another week or so left back home before he’s shipped back to California. From there, sometime next June, he’ll get a new assignment and from the sounds of it, it could be anywhere, even Iraq again. Before letting him go, TnT thanked him and all of his fellow troops for fighting for the country. They asked how the local Iraqi people treated the soldiers and were happy to hear that a majority of them are glad the US troops are there. Jessie also shared his thoughts on the death of Saddam’s sons and then TnT lightened the mood by asking him about banging hookers in Australia, Latin America, and Africa. “No comment” was about all he would say; yet you could hear the giant smile on his face. It was great to hear from another Marine back from the war in one piece. I’m sure we’ll hear from Jessie again in the future.

Following their military talk, Todd and Tyler brought in Jamie, the virgin guy on staff that went to the strip club with BW and Pussy last night. They asked him about what it was like not diving head first into the love canal, which he admitted was kind of hard. Figuring that they could get “Virg” laid rather easily, they asked him about his thoughts on the subject. He seemed hesitant, mostly because of what his mom might think. So, TnT got his mom’s phone number and gave her a call. They asked her, Becky, straight out if she would mind them getting her son laid. She said it was really up to her boy and basically left it at that. Following the call to his mom, Virg hemmed and hawed, not committing one way or the other about having TnT get him some nanny.

BW returned later in the show with today’s e-news segment. After some “South Park” talk and discussion of licking dog bung holes, BW reported on a fake story about a 3rd deformed, hairy, basement dwelling Olsen Twin that has been kept from the public by her family because she’s too hideous. He then read over today’s “Who the hell is that?” and followed it up with a quiz for TnT about the 1970’s, which they nailed. BW then wrapped up the e-news and today’s show with a story about a man that had his neck cut all the way around except for his spinal cord. It was rather disturbing but in the end, the guy’s head ended up getting sewn back on.

Tomorrow Todd and Tyler will be joined in studio by Eric Crouch during Trav’s sports report. They’re also scheduled to visit with Roger Dickson of MECA so there will be lots of talk about the new Arena. Tune in from 5:30am to 10am for the Friday show and keep in mind that if you missed today’s show, you can catch it tonight at 10pm as it airs as the 3rd Shift Replay. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
