| Straight Pimpin ![]() | TnT Show 07-29-2003 Tuesday 7-29-03 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by sharing the details of the upcoming Parade of Panties event at the Ice House. The guys will be there on Friday night along with the band Down To Here for the Parade of Panties. 50 women will be allowed to enter, each getting a pair of Z-Bash tickets, and Midget Brian will be the grand marshal of the parade. It should be lots of fun so make sure to swing on out to the Ice House Friday night and see the guys. The gang also discussed the upcoming Great White concert taking place at the Anchor Inn on Thursday night. They were going to speak with singer Jack Russell of the band but he doesn’t want to get out of bed. Instead, Jessica Dol will interview him on her show sometime this afternoon. Anyway, the guys moved on to talk about the reasons they will not be playing dodge ball this winter and then they brainstormed some tongue-in-cheek ideas about possibly playing sand volleyball in local gyms against the senior cheerleader squads. Following the thoughts of high school cheerleaders, the guys moved on to talk about Trav’s FWIW last night. His commentary was about the National No Call List, the thing that’s supposed to stop telemarketers from calling your house. Both Todd and Tyler are on the list now but because the list doesn’t officially go into effect until October, they’ve yet to notice any lack of sales calls coming into their homes. TnT then took a call from a telemarketer that basically explained the new list and how it won’t affect a majority of the types of telemarketing calls we all get anyway. She detailed a bunch of excepted business types and groups that will still be able to call you. Her call put TnT in “What good is this stupid list then?” mode. BW came in with the news a bit later in the show. He began with some more talk about the labor and pay freeze issue the city is undergoing now. They took a few calls from listeners about the situation, some opting to vote for a pay freeze while others gave their reasons for not. All in all, the subject is confusing and nobody really seems to know who is on the right side of the issue. TnT moved on to discuss the recently invoked water restrictions, there was another pit bull killed in Lincoln (cheers!), and Brian reported on a Lincoln drag queen, which led to a discussion of the Ms. Gay Nebraska contest. TnT also discussed the new paper put out by the Catholic Church that describes their stance on gay marriages; surprise, they’re against them. Also in the news, Brian reported on a terrible story from Western Nebraska about a 2-year-old girl that was admitted to the hospital because she somehow got crank in her system and was going a bit loopy. The boyfriend of the child’s mother wouldn’t cooperate with police so TnT felt it was safe to assume that he may or may not have allegedly had something to do with the fact that the kid got into some crank. This spawned a whole new line of calls this morning, as TnT opened up the phones and asked ladies to check in with stories about their good boyfriends. The criteria for TnT’s good boyfriend calls included guys who don’t let their pit bulls chew on your kids and guys who don’t let your kids eat their crank, along with a few others. Those calls came in during the early portion of the show but tapered off as the subjects discussed throughout the morning changed. Trav came in with this morning’s sports report but before going into it, the gang got back on the telemarketing discussion, as they talked about Trav’s FWIW last night. More telemarketing phone calls poured in with listeners offering up bits of information that they have gathered about the new law, the new list, and how it will actually affect us. There were, though, conflicting pieces of information and after today, I’m left just as confused as I was before Trav’s FWIW. Also during Trav’s time with the guys, he talked with them about a salesman that came to his home and attempted to sell his wife $800 worth of knives. Someone Trav knows referred him to the salesman, though he wouldn’t say whom it was over the air. Trav then said he saved TnT from a visit from the same guy, too. The salesman obviously knew who Trav was because he asked Trav’s wife for TnT’s information so he could contact them and sell them some knives. Trav’s wife saved the day and told the salesman that she wouldn’t give him TnT’s info, something the guys were quite grateful for. Following the sports, Todd and Tyler brought in Jessica Dol to discuss the Kobe Bryant case. They wondered whether or not she has ever been in a situation such as they suspect happened between the basketball player and his accuser. That speculated situation being that she consented to regular sex but freaked out when Kobe allegedly put it in her rear. Jessica said she has not, stating that her butt is an exit only. The discussion changed from there as Jessica mentioned that her sexual dry spell has been showered. On Sunday, she got laid. Although she was sketchy on the details at first, TnT were able to pull it out of her that the guy that she was with is a keyboard player in a local band. After sorting through Jessica’s vague details, the guys asked her if she was in love. She pussyfooted around, hemming and hawing, and then told the guys about some complications that an old ex-boyfriend of hers who recently came into town has been causing her. I’m sure we’ll get further details of the love life of Jessica in the near future so stay tuned. With this week’s Great White concert at the Anchor Inn, Todd and Tyler spoke with Todd King of the Station Family Fund, the organization helping to raise money to support the families and victims of the Rhode Island club fire earlier this year. He and his wife were actually there on the evening of the fire and she shared the details of how they were able to get out, how they attempted to help those that were injured, and what it was like seeing the flickering flames turn into an all out fire. Mr. King went on to share a few stories about the things the Station Family Fund has done to help those who lost loved ones and asked for any support anyone can offer. Proceeds from the Thursday night Great White show at the Anchor Inn will go to the Station Family Fund and you can also help out by visiting Welcome to the Station Family Fund. BW returned later in the show with this morning’s e-news. There was some talk about the death of Iron Butterfly’s guitar player, they moved on to discuss some TV related stories, and the guys spent some time discussing the upcoming NFL and college football season. While on the football conversation, they talked about the pre-season concert that will kick off this year’s NFL season and they read over a bunch of the TV games the Huskers will be playing in, among other teams. The guys then took a break from football as Brian read over two fake stories from the Onion web site. Following that, BW brought football back to the table and wrapped up the e-news segment with a quiz filled with old Super Bowl questions. Well, that does it for the Tuesday update. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay of today’s show and make sure to rejoin the guys tomorrow at 5:30am for the Wednesday program. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
