Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning with some talk about last night’s Great White show at the Anchor Inn. There was an excellent turnout and more than $5000 was raised to help out the Station Family Fund. TnT spent some time discussing the TV coverage of the event, which included KM3 making a factual error relating to the donations. They also talked at length about how they had two of the Z staffers, Heath and Jamie, stand behind a guy from 42 during his live feed to the station. The two made faces, slapped each other’s asses, rubbed on their nipples, and did the old tongue between the fingers love lick. The guys took a few calls from people who saw this live on TV and everyone got a kick out of it.

Also early in the show, Black Tony joined the guys in studio. He joined in on the early morning topics of the day, which included some college football talk, how the Huskers are not in the top 25 according to a newly released poll, and some Sturgis talk with BW. The guys also discussed tonight’s Parade of Panties at the Ice House. With the new Todd and Tyler thong underwear that each participant will receive as part of their gift pack, the guys later talked Black Tony into trying on the thong. When he walked into the studio, his “buddies” were poking out of the side of the thong, a visual that nobody wanted yet everyone laughed at.

BW came in a bit later with today’s newscast. There was a lot more talk about the city budget, the pay freeze, and the unions. The guys also talked about some UP employees that were busted in an illegal Mexican immigrant smuggling ring. From there, the guys spent some time discussing a new case of false imprisonment, their favorite charge, out of North Omaha. The guy in this story allegedly locked his wife up when she got home from work every day for 3 years, something nobody really seemed to understand. There was some talk about human West Nile cases, a story about people showering in their neighborhood’s sewage water, and a tale of beanbag chair guns in Des Moines.

Following the news, Omaha Mayor Mike Fahey joined Todd and Tyler in studio. He spent some time talking with the guys about the budget issue that has been all over the news lately. He explained the stance of various unions as well as what the city thinks should be done. According to the mayor, the pay freeze he has proposed is the best way to avoid having to raise property taxes, something nobody in town wants. The mayor then talked with the guys about a recent trip to Omaha’s sister city in Japan. While there, he went to a “Blessing of the wood” ceremony for a big wooden door that will eventually end up in the Omaha botanical garden and he talked with the guys about going to a Japanese fish market. At that fish market he spotted a chunk of “special” tuna that cost more than $480! It was yet another interesting visit with Omaha Mayor Mike Fahey and I’m sure he’ll be back on the air with TnT in the near future.

Travis came in with today’s sports report. He spent some time talking with the guys about recent FWIW reaction, including the hateful response on Trav’s “no guns at the university” policy suggestion. The guys also talked quite a bit about the college football poll that was just released, in which the Huskers are not featured in the top 25. The guys also phoned Craig Peters of KM3 and Trav gave him a hard time for the special facial painting make-up gun he purchased in order to assist in the make-up application process.

Chris Porter and Craig Tonkenson from the Funny Bone stopped in today and spent the remainder of the show hanging out with TnT. They attempted to give Omaha some crap for being a small city but that was quickly shut down by Todd and Tyler when the two comedians mentioned they were just from Kansas City, a.k.a. Omaha West with just a few more things to do. The two joined in on all of the other conversations of the day and seemed to enjoy their time on the TnT show. By the way, you can catch them tonight at the Funny Bone for a 10:30pm show. Later in the show, TnT received a phone call from Dr. John, who was calling from prison. The guys had heard Dr. John’s phone privileges had been taken away because he kept calling the guys but Dr. John was able to bypass the system today by using another prisoner’s phone code. He talked briefly with the guys about how he got his ass chewed the last time he called them, discussed their parade of panties, and as he was about to talk to the guys about how he hasn’t been prosecuted by any other cities for having stores there, the line was cut and the recorded voice of a female came on the line stating, “This call has been terminated by the system administrator.” It was hilarious! From the sounds of it, that might end up as this weekend’s promo so if you didn’t hear it live, stay tuned to the mighty Z all weekend and you’re bound to hear it.

BW delivered the e-news later in today’s show. Believe it or not, the guys got into a lengthy discussion about worm holes, intergalactic travel, and the possibility of the existence of multiple universes and all of that was spawned by a news story about Arnold the “Terminator” possibly running for governor of California. BW also read over today’s “Who the hell is that” list, followed up by a quickly executed “Friends” trivia quiz and another stupid article from the Onion web site that TnT also shut down pretty fast. To wrap up the e-news, Brian reported on a story about a stripper getting sued by a male patron because she squirted breast milk on his face.

Before wrapping up today’s show, the boys from Down To Hear came into the studio and played a couple of great sounding tunes for TnT. They’re going to be performing at the Ice House tonight with Todd and Tyler’s Parade of Panties, which begins at 7pm by the way, as well as joining TnT tomorrow at the Council Bluffs Eddy’s Conoco store for the last cartoon cup event of the summer. Stop out to all of the activities this weekend. By the way, you can also catch Down To Here performing tomorrow night in Lincoln at some place called the Point or something located around the Lincoln Airport exit near the Dr. Johns store.
