| Straight Pimpin ![]() | TnT Show 08-18-2003 Monday 8-18-03 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning after having returned from a weeklong vacation. As usual, Tyler went east while Todd went west. Todd’s camping trip chalked up yet another “I locked my keys in” call to the On-Star people, who promptly sent a guy out from 75 miles away to let Todd into his truck. Tyler’s trip had him visiting his 90-year-old grandfather in a nursing home, knocking boots with his Becky on his dad’s living room couch, and it also included a paranoid Tyler scooping out Arab-looking men on the airplane. Also early in the show, the gang discussed the changes to this year’s Z-Bash lineup. As I am sure you all have heard by now, Lynyrd Skynyrd will not be performing because their guitarist, Gary Rossington, has some serious medical issues that have caused the band to cancel the remainder of this summer’s tour. All of the other bands will still be performing and the new changes to the concert seem mostly to involve the time the show will start and the ticket prices. The show has been pushed back to a 1pm start time, with the gates still opening at 10am I believe, and now your $25 tickets will get two people into the gate per each ticket. Later in the show, James the Giant Peach came in and talked with the guys about a meeting the Z staff had last week regarding the situation and what they decided to do in order to make the listeners who have already purchased tickets happy. As Todd and Tyler pointed out throughout the remainder of today’s show, the Z-Bash 2003 will still be an awesome show, the weather looks like it’s going to cooperate, lots more people can come this year due to the 2-for-1 ticket deal, and each of the bands is actually going to get to play a little longer to help fill up the time Skynyrd was going to be using. Make sure you get your Z-Bash tickets this week. The concert is Saturday! Following the early morning Z-Bash talk, the guys moved on to discuss a flyer that has been tossed onto the driveways of a Millard neighborhood. The flyer, put out by the National Alliance for White People, was a racist rant about how illegal immigrants are polluting the United States. Jeremy actually brought in one of the flyers, which was found on his girlfriend’s brother’s lawn. TnT called a phone number on the flyer and listened to a message from some West Virginia redneck that has set up the organization distributing the flyers. The message of the guy on the answering machine was the same hate-filled rant from the flyer but went into even more depth about all of the other people on the plane the and his group hate. BW came in with the news a bit later in the show. He, recently tattooed while in Sturgis, talked with the guys about his new zodiac arrow-ish disfiguration before diving into this morning’s report. There were plenty of stories for the guys to talk about including more discussion of the newly named Quest Arena, more rotty and pit bull killing stories, a tale about a guy who got his hair caught in a roller coaster that died after getting scalped and dropped from 40-feet up, and there were several “Big” references to fill in the remainder of the newscast. Travis came in during the news and joined in on the topics of the morning. Later, TnT phoned the National Alliance for White People’s answering machine again and let Travis listen to the hate-filled rant. The gang moved on to discuss Travis’ moving plans, as he’s taking the week off of TV to pack boxes. There was some golf talk to follow along with discussion of how everyone is looking forward to the summer doldrums being over and college football kicking into high gear in just a couple of weeks. A bit later in the show, Todd and Tyler were joined in studio by comedian Josh Sneed. He’s on his way from up north to play a club in Louisiana and having enjoyed his time with Todd and Tyler in the past, he decided to make Omaha an overnight stop in order to swing by this morning. Josh joined in on the topics of the morning and discussed his new comedy CD, Comedy’s Most Wanted, which can be found at Josh Sneed | http://www.joshsneed.com/. I’m sure we’ll hear more from Josh in the future so stay tuned. Before the e-news began, Todd and Tyler took a call from a lady who is headed to Amsterdam in November for the Cannabis Cup, a big pot smoker convention. She had a lengthy conversation with Todd and Tyler about the marijuana laws in Amsterdam, the different types and varieties of pot that can be found there, the contest itself, and much more. She discussed a variety of different package tours that have been set up by a company called 420 Tours, ranging from $1500 to $2100 depending on the type of hotel you’re looking for and the length of your visit. For a pothead, she seemed pretty on the ball. It was an interesting dive into the world of really serious pot fans and according to TnT, she will be calling back as a correspondent to the Cannabis Cup this November with “4:20” updates, which should put her calls right around 9:20am local time. We can probably expect to hear from her sometime between 10:30am and 2pm, though. After all, she is a pothead. By the way, for information on the Cannabis Cup, you can pick up the High Times magazine or check out 420tours.com. BW returned later in the show with today’s e-news segment. It began with some Star Wars geek talk as Josh Sneed and Jeremy geeked out on a bunch of old Star Wars action figures and toys Jeremy has decided he’d like to sell on eBay. The gang later discussed TnT bobble head dolls and how Tyler doesn’t think his sister wants to wear any of the new TnT panties because he doubted his sister would want his face on her pie. The gang then discussed more Ben and J. Lo news, there was another unbelievably gripping story from the Onion web site, and BW read over today’s “Who the hell is that” list. To wrap up the e-news segment, Brian gave the guys a quiz that focused on the month of August and followed that up with a story about a woman finding a severed penis in her soup. Well, that does it for the Monday update. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay of this morning’s show and make sure to rejoin the guys tomorrow morning at 5:30am for the Tuesday program. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
