Tuesday 8-19-03

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing the SARS-Fest concert taking place in Canada. Reports have come through that Justin Timberlake, the tool from one of those boy bands, felt out of place sharing the stage with rock legends like AC/DC and the Stones. TnT weren’t surprised to hear that but they did give Timberlake a little credit for having recently bed such hotties as Britney Spears, Cameron Diaz, and Alyssa Milano. And speaking of hotties, TnT discussed a recent E! Entertainment “True Hollywood Story” about the life of porn goddess Jenna Jameson. From there, Tyler gave a hilariously excited and in depth review of the new Sci-Fi show “Scare Tactics”.

Also early in the show, TnT discussed an article in the paper about a woman that tried to poison her brother’s ex-wife by giving her an antifreeze margarita. BW came in with the news a bit later and the guys continued discussing the story. Brian also reported on fire fighters clothing allowances, more West Nile cases, the dynamics of Kansas City Plaza nipples and how their various moods relate to outside temperatures, there was talk about floating chickens with helium balloons, the gang discussed thirsty skin, and the guys talked about bass rodeos.

Following the newscast, Todd and Tyler were joined in studio by Matt and Kelly from Cohen, Vacanti, Higgins, and Shattuck. They began their visit with a little catch-up session, which led into some talk about the guys’ recent trip to New York City. One of the lawyers, I can’t recall which, was fed a tongue sandwich bought off a street vendor by his buddies. Thinking it was pastrami and being a bit drunk hungry at the time, he chowed it down only to find out it was tongue when his laughing buddies informed him of it after the sandwich had been fully eaten. Needless to say, he didn’t feel well afterwards but did get his revenge by expelling noxious digested tongue gas, effectively choking out the room later.

TnT then reintroduced the antifreeze margarita story and let the lawyers weigh in on whether or not they would have chosen to defend the woman accused, as James Martin Davis has. During their talk, Todd looked up the accused woman’s name in the phone book, called her house, and actually spoke to her off the air. She wouldn’t go on the air so Todd relayed her statement, which was basically something to the effect of, “…innocent until proven guilty and this will all come out in the wash.” Later in the visit, oddly when Travis arrived (the one with the most dysfunctional family issues of anyone on the show), one of the lawyers shared a story about getting into a fight with his brother over some spilled gravy during a Thanksgiving Day feast. Travis shared a few tales of his own dysfunctional family, too, but didn’t go into that much detail.

Well, the lawyers really didn’t answer too many phone calls from listeners today, instead opting to just join in on the topics of the morning and hang out and have a good time, so there’s not much more to say about their visit with the guys. Travis came in with the sports report today and spent some time talking with the guys about Eric Crouch’s new gig with Channel 7 as a college football analyst for this coming Husker season. TnT phoned Crouch and talked to him about his new gig, which he seemed to be looking forward to. TnT asked Eric how he would handle it if the Huskers had another crappy 7 and 7 season, to which Crouch replied, “I’ll try to keep things positive.” I’m sure we’ll here from Crouch again in the near future so stay tuned. From there, Trav continued with his sports report and concluded with a little talk about recent FWIW topics and feedback.

A bit later in the show, Todd and Tyler took another phone call from wrongly imprisoned Dr. John. He told TnT that he was recently taken off of kitchen duty and from what I gathered this was due to him eating some of the food he wasn’t supposed to be. I’m not positive on that, though, because the good Doc was slightly confusing when he was discussing that. Anyway, Dr. John went on to tell TnT that he attempted to donate some DVD players to the jail but got in trouble for doing so. Evidentially, the state frowns on gifts being given to the jails by the inmates housed within them. Dr. John said he would have his friend drop off the DVD players and have TnT give them out as prizes in the future. We’ll here more from Dr. John later so stay tuned.

BW came in with the e-news towards the end of today’s program. The gang all strapped on their vaginas for a lengthy and in depth conversation about HBO’s “Sex And The City”. Following that, they took a phone call from the woman that was poisoned by the antifreeze margarita. She gave the details about how the whole meeting with her ex-husband’s sister took place, how she was able to mask the antifreeze in the frozen drink, and the aftereffects of having ingested the poison. She said she didn’t really know why the lady hated her so much, enough to try to kill her, but speculated that it may have had something to do with her getting the house in the divorce, pissing off the sister of her now-ex-husband. As the story unfolds further, we’re bound to hear more.

The e-news continued but it was rather brief. Tyler had a 10:30am appointment with a doctor about his funky ear syndrome and had to jet out so he cut BW short on most of the remainder of the e-news. BW did get to slip in some odd trivia in the form of a “Did you know” list and he mixed in one or two “Who the hell is that” names for the day.

Tomorrow the guys will be joined in studio by Dr. Ed live from his basement in Tyler, TX.
