Monday 8-25-03

Todd and Tyler started off this morning’s show by mentioning how they spent their Sundays in Z-Bash recovery mode watching crappy TV and worrying about the super volcano. Having lots to talk about related to the Z-Bash, the gang discussed the events of the day, the boobs in the crowd, reports of one lady that stripped naked and got finger diddled by a stranger, and more. Lots of listeners checked in with their own Z-bash memories during the early part of today’s show as well as throughout the remainder of the program. On a related note, TnT were both a bit pissed that the local newspaper didn’t bother to mention the Z-Bash at all in Sunday’s edition. They were amazed that an event that drew around 12,000 people and featured three big name rock bands was completely overlooked by the paper yet they did report on the 8 people that turned out for a polka get-together.

BW came in with the news a bit later in the show. As he read the stories of the morning, TnT discussed them. For the most part, though, today’s newscast was overshadowed by discussion and calls from listeners with Z-Bash reactions to share. One story that did stick out though was BW’s “and finally” for the morning. It was a heartwarming tale about an 80-something-year-old woman that died while bending down to give her recently deceased husband one final kiss goodbye as he lay in his coffin at the funeral.

Following the news, both James the Giant Peach and Travis joined the guys with some more Z-Bash talk. They both shared some stories about the day and listened to more phone calls from listeners with comments about the show. A bit later, Travis talked with the guys a bit about some pit bull association that hates him for his recent commentary on how he would like to ban the ownership of pit bulls in the city limits. The head of the pit bull group has been putting out web casts and faxes ranting about Travis. One of the faxes quoted an unnamed female reporter from either Channel 6 or 7 that said that the pit bulls featured on the association’s web cast are cute. TnT phoned Trisha of Channel 7 to find out if she had made the comments. She informed the guys that it wasn’t and she didn’t know who it could have been. Trisha also told TnT that she was hit by a drunk driver on Friday night at midnight and although she wasn’t seriously hurt, she was a bit banged up and wasn’t able to attend the Z-Bash.

Following the pit bull talk and TnT’s conversation with Trisha, Travis delivered this morning’s sports report. There was plenty of talk about college football and the upcoming Husker game as well as some tennis talk. Travis also mentioned that now that the summer doldrums are about to end and the college football season is about to kick off, KM3 will be mixing in a bit more sports soon. He said he’ll have an announcement to make a bit later in the week so stay tuned for that.

Todd and Tyler’s boss, Steve, joined the guys in studio for more Z-Bash talk after Trav’s report. While Steve was there working in the merchandise booth, a hottie in a bikini top and a towel approached him and asked whether or not they were selling sunglasses. Steve told her that they weren’t, although he liked the idea. The lady then stated that she really wanted some glasses so she wouldn’t have to squint all day and offered to give Steve a Diekman if he were to give up his sunglasses to her. Steve, happily married, politely declined the offer and sent the lady on her way. Seconds later he took a phone call from his wife and he immediately told her about the offer. Todd and Tyler took some time to explain that if the same situation would have happened to them even if they turned down the offer, they couldn’t have told their wives about it because they wouldn’t have believed that the guys turned down such an offer.

A bit later in the show, the guys took a couple of phone calls from Husker fans that were upset at TnT for not sucking Husker ass. One guy stated that because he was born in this state that Todd and Tyler have to show this state and the Huskers “respect”. TnT laughed it off, stating that just because that caller dropped out of his mom’s pie in the state of Nebraska, that doesn’t mean they have to give him any respect. Another caller checked in to bitch at Jeremy for being a Todd and Tyler “leg humper”, which everyone disputed. A few other bad calls came in during this time, mostly from Nebraskans that don’t really care about the Huskers, but TnT got bored with those calls quickly and put and end to the discussion.

BW returned later in the show with today’s e-news. There was some talk about a Marlin Brando / Courtney Love connection being false as well as discussion of people dropping fluids on the American Idol winner Ruben’s face as the magazine cover he appeared on laid next to the toilet next to TnT’s office. BW then provided today’s “Who the hell is that” list. Jessica Dol then joined the guys in studio and talked with the guys about her Z-Bash experience. She got booed for not flashing the audience her nearly see-through bra. She also talked about sucking face with both Sean Gnandt and Matt Higgins while at the Z-Bash.

Later in the show, Larry the Cable Guy checked in with his Husker prediction for Saturday’s game, 31-21. He then went on to deliver a commentary about the TV show “Queer Eye For The Straight Guy”, which was flat out hilarious.

BW then continued the e-news with some quotes and a list called “You know you’re in 2003 when”. From there, he delivered another edition of the Nebraska Sex Offender List.
