| Straight Pimpin ![]() | TnT Show 08-29-2003 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning with some talk about their appearance at the Lee Terry roast last night. They enjoyed doing the roast but did admit to being slightly uncomfortable in the room full of old Republicans. They discussed some of the comments they made during their roast of Terry and described the “groan” reactions they received on many of their statements, particularly when the name “Robin” was mentioned and they exclaimed while looking at Pat McPherson, “Sorry Pat.” Also early in the show, TnT read over an e-mail forwarded from a listener that came from the person’s work. It was all about wearing Husker gear on casual Friday. As TnT read the e-mail, it seemed to them that the person was working in some sort of Husker Nazi business with mention of a Big Red patrol harassing those not dressed in Husker gear. They commented on the “Husker Gestapo” mentality of businesses and tried to point out that not everyone in an office should be assumed to be a Husker fan. From there, the guys discussed last night’s VMA awards that aired on MTV. The start of the show featured Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera on stage together singing Madonna’s “Like A Virgin”. They were then joined on stage by Madonna herself. While the three were doing their number, Madonna and Britney tongue kissed. The camera quickly went to Justin Timberlake, Britney’s old bang, in the audience for his reaction and then cut back to the stage to catch just a glimpse of Madonna kissing Christina as well. Callers that watched it checked in to describe the event, as TnT both missed it. Everyone concurred that it was hot as hell. Later, they received a video clip of the kisses from a listener named Jason and watched it repeatedly throughout today’s show. If you’d like to see the clip, look on the main page of the TnT section of Z92.com under “Recent Features”. I’ve posted it there for everyone to see. BW came in with the news a bit later in the show. There were a variety of stories this morning that sparked tangents in the conversation. Along with continuing talk of the Britney, Madonna, and Christina kiss video clip during the news, Congressman Lee Terry joined Todd and Travis came in with this morning’s sports report a bit later in the show. The gang discussed recent FWIW commentaries, including last night’s that was about how Travis doesn’t want to hear any of the 911 calls from the World Trade Center tragedy that are planning to be released. TnT seemed to agree with him on that one, referring to hearing the calls as “unnecessary”. Trav’s sports report was filled with college football talk, as there were some games on last night and tomorrow officially kicks off the season for the Huskers. Everyone spent some time discussing the 800 former Huskers that will be on the field for some sort of presentation before tomorrow’s game in Brian Burgess from the Funny Bone stopped in this morning and spent a couple of hours hanging out with the guys. He talked to them about a recent bout of dehydration he suffered that landed him in the hospital receiving a 5 hour IV. He also joined in on the other topics of the morning and really seemed to enjoy hanging with the guy. Brian was great on the show with TnT today so make sure you get out to the Funny Bone this weekend and catch his show. He’s got a great delivery! Call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 for reservations. The band Tres Equis joined Todd and Tyler in studio today and played a couple of tunes for the guys. They sounded awesome! The gang also joined in on the topics of the morning, discussed margaritas and eating salsa, and everyone poked fun at Storm, their guitar player and former guitar player for Ivory Star. If you missed Tres Equis on the show today, tune in for the 3rd Shift Replay of today’s show as it airs on Sunday night at BW returned later in the show with today’s e-news segment. There was more talk about the big kiss on last night’s VMA awards, the gang discussed the Terminator’s comments in a 70’s porn magazine where he admitted to taking part in a gang bang and smoking pot, and there was some quick math done to determine how many episodes David Letterman has done, as he’s putting together a 10-year anniversary with CBS special for prime time in the near future. Also during the news, a random big brother stopped by the studio to say hi. TnT didn’t recognize the guy and it’s not every day that a large black guy pops his head into their studio for no reason. Someone chased him down the hall and brought him in. TnT then found out his name is Wes and he works over on their hip-hop sister station. He joked with the guys for a bit, seemingly being a very funny and cool guy, before taking off. BW continued the e-news with some talk about how the father on “Alf”, Willy, was busted for drunk driving. He then read over two stories from the Onion web site, listed today’s “Who the hell is that” birthdays with no names, and he read over a “general quiz” that seemed to bore TnT more than entertain them. The gang then wrapped up their show with a reminder to visit them out at the Anchor Inn on Sunday for the big 5-n-5 summer wrap-up party and Panty Parade. It’s going to be a beautiful day, the bands that will be performing are all great, and there will be hotties in thongs on stage with Todd and Tyler. Make sure to join the guys Sunday at the Anchor! That does it for the Friday update. Tune in on Sunday night at
