| Straight Pimpin ![]() | TnT Show 09-16-2003 Tuesday 9-16-03 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by mentioning that they’re going into rehab for the day. This is due in part to their weekends as well as last night’s Monday Night Football party at Brewsky’s. The party was yet another success as a whole, including the speed dating sessions listeners of TnT’s show and patrons of Brewsky’s had with Lisa, the speed dating hottie. After some talk about the MNF party, TnT moved on to discuss Trav’s FWIW commentary last night and how KM3 decided to tease the hate reaction calls Trav received regarding his commentary on the police officer that was shot instead of last night’s actual commentary on the proposed city auditor, something TnT both felt was a rather boring topic. Also early in the show, Todd and Tyler acknowledged that today is Mexico’s Independence Day. They wondered aloud exactly who Mexico won their independence from and brought in Jose from their Spanish speaking sister station for a brief history lesson. Jose informed them that they won independence from Spain and promised to return later in the show for a lengthier visit, as he had to return to do his morning show on the other station. Following that, TnT mentioned the new Z-92 commercial and expressed a bit of disappointment in it. The commercial itself was produced nicely and looks good but they were bummed because they were only featured for a second or two even though they have been a huge part of the Z family for more than 10 years. On the other hand, some old promo lady that was used on Z commercials in the 80’s, Gina something, was brought back for the new commercial and was prominently featured. The gang then discussed Tommy Frazier’s yellow teeth for a bit, something that was pointed out to them by an e-mailer. BW came in with the news a bit later. The gang began with some more talk about the officer that was recently shot. That led to a discussion about how there are currently 3000 outstanding felony warrants in the Omaha area right now, a scary thought. They moved on to talk about a teacher that was car-jacked, how Galileo space probe is going to crash into Jupiter, more boring talk about the city auditor, fruit flavored condoms being distributed to Canadian prisoners, and BW wrapped up the news today with a tale about a bow hunter that shot himself in the leg and bled to death while sitting on a stump. Matt Higgins from the law firm Cohen, Vacanti, Higgins, and Shattuck stopped in this morning and spent some time hanging out with the guys. He took calls from listeners for a bit, mostly related to child support, but for the most part he just hung out with TnT and had a good time. During Matt’s visit, TnT got a phone call from the lady that was supposed to speed date last night, Candice. She couldn’t do it because her child was ill. TnT also found out that her ex-boyfriend, the man that got her pregnant and left her several months after the child was born, got mad at her for wanting to speed date. TnT talked with Candice about speaking to the lawyers about getting some child support, which she seemed interested in investigating further. Later, Candice said that she still would like to speed date at Brewsky’s during an upcoming MNF party so we all have that to look forward to. By the way, if you’d like to get in touch with any of the lawyers, they can be reached at 345-7600 or on the web at FathersRightsLaw.com. Travis came in a bit later with the morning sports report. He talked with the guys about last’s MNF game, moved on to a little Husker talk, discussed why soccer hasn’t become more popular in the US, and had a conversation about how dangerous it is to fall asleep behind the wheel. There was also a little talk about Tommy Frazier’s yellow teeth and recent FWIW related subjects. Todd and Tyler spoke to their comedian buddy Lewis Black this morning. He’s currently on the road with Dave Attell and there is hope that their tour will come to the Omaha area in the future. Lewis talked with TnT about being on the road with Dave, discussed an upcoming HBO special that he plans to film in March, and mentioned that he’s on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” tonight giving yet another hilarious commentary. There is also a new CD and DVD in the works as well as a Lewis Black Bobble Head Doll! Lewis also went off on a few rants, as he tends to do, while discussing Arnold’s gubernatorial run in California, the stellar piece of cinema known as “Terminator 3”, and he ranted about the Vietnamese guy that won “Last Comic Standing”, which prompted Lewis to say something to the effect of, “That’s the only thing that makes me reconsider the war in Vietnam, the fact that that guy won.” We’re bound to hear from Lewis again in the future so stay tuned. In the mean time, check out Lewis Black on “The Daily Show” weekly. Ted Nugent phoned Todd and Tyler today and talked to the guys a bit about his upcoming concert at the new Arena. The concert is going to take place on Wednesday September 24th and I’m sure tickets are already on sale. After propping up his supporting band, talking a bit about hunting, and discussing his ranch in Crawford, TX very near to the President’s ranch, the conversation ended with Nugent giving support to the family and friends of officer Jason Pratt who was recently shot after pulling over a bad guy in town. Jose returned to the studio a bit later in the show along with another Mexican buddy of his, whom I didn’t catch the name of. They began by playing a bit of Mexican music on the guitar, attempting to sing and failing miserably. The two then spent a bit of time talking with TnT about Mexico’s Independence Day, the history of how they won independence from Spain, traditional celebrations, and more. They also brought with them some traditional Mexican dishes and drinks, which TnT tried out. Even though the guys ate beef tongue, cheek, pigskin, and stomach, they weren’t grossed out by the food. Actually, they liked everything they tried. Happy Independence Day to all of our friends of Mexican decent! BW returned late in today’s show with the e-news. The gang discussed what might be done with John Ritter’s TV show now that he’s gone, they joked about a man that attempted to cut magician David Blain’s water hose as he hangs from a box over London, and they commented on the new battle between Apple Computers and the Beatle’s record company Apple. TnT then did a little of Yoko Ono mathematics, they discussed the percentage of gay people on TV, they drooled over hot 15-year-old actresses and future “magazine cover” stars, and BW read a hilarious list of possible Bush campaign slogans for the upcoming presidential election. Before leaving the air today, TnT spoke with last night’s speed dater, Lisa. She told the guys that she had a good time and although a tiny bit nervous at first, she felt safe and enjoyed the experience. TnT asked her about the couple that sat down to date her, wondering if Lisa might have bi-sexual tendencies, but from what I could gather, Lisa didn’t directly answer yes or no to the question. She did say that the couple was fun, though, and admitted that she has their home phone and cell phone numbers. Perhaps if anything comes of the speed-dating match making, TnT will get a follow-up call. That does it for the Tuesday update. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay of this morning’s show and make sure to rejoin the guys tomorrow morning at 5:30am for the big Wednesday program. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
