TnT Show 09-17-2003

Wednesday 9-17-03

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing the recent “Where are they now?” TV show featuring Rachel Hunter. The guys both agreed that they get irked when that TV show does a special on someone that really hasn’t been out of the public eye and everyone knows what they’ve been up to, for example Sammy Hagar.

From there, they moved on to talk about the upcoming move of the radio station from their current location off of 108th and L Street to their new building much further north. There was a groundbreaking ceremony yesterday that both Tyler and Jeremy attended. While there, a time capsule was buried with the intentions of it being opened in 10 years. The guys found some of the things put into the capsule by their co-workers rather amusing, things like a commercial rate card. TnT wanted to burry their purple double dong in the capsule but they were shot down.

Also yesterday, the gang mentioned that they were going into rehab and taking the day off drinking but that didn’t work out exactly as planned. Tyler had a couple beers at the Journal picnic, part of the ground-breaking ceremony as far as I could tell, and Todd drank a couple of 4-foot beers at BW3s. Tyler also talked about a “Romp-A-Room” style daycare get-together he and his wife took their new baby to yesterday afternoon. At one point in the festivities, the group pulled out a parachute and sang “Lets pull out the chute” repeatedly, something Tyler couldn’t help but associate a sexual mental image with. TnT then moved on to a little hand gun talk, prompted by Trav’s FWIW commentary on KM3 last night.

The gang also spent some time this morning discussing being “pussy whipped”. The subject came up after it was pointed out to them that Damian the Freak is going to drive around a van full of women as they bar hop to celebrate Lynn Taylor and Jessica Dol’s birthdays. Freak’s girlfriend, Z-weekender Jazz, is one of the ladies on the trip and TnT assumed that she talked Freak into being the DD for the girls. They opened up the phone lines to any listener that wanted to turn their whipped buddies in or admit being whipped himself. A few callers checked in here and there throughout the remainder of the show but for the most part, people didn’t seem willing to give themselves up.

BW came in with the news a bit later in the show. The guys started off by discussing the fact that the man that shot Officer Pratt had 140 run-ins with the law prior to the night he was pulled over, shot the officer, and was consequently killed during the confrontation. Red tape was blamed as part of the reason the guy was still out on the streets, a claim that didn’t seem to make anyone happy, understandably. BW then shared another mower-induced idea he had recently about how he wants the city to hire him on the side to “take out” sniper style from his mower any of the 3000 people with outstanding warrants that are wanted by the police. TnT got a kick out of the idea but didn’t think it would fly. They moved on to discuss the city budget and city council, Nebraska West Nile cases, bomb dogs at Epply, a sleep position study, and they had a lengthy conversation about “Blind Tards”, which prompted a hate call from a listener upset at the guys for making fun of mentally challenged people.

Travis came in a bit later in the show with this morning’s sports report. Along with delivering the day’s sporting news, Travis talked with the guys about his FWIW commentary last night. He agrees with TnT’s position on gun control and how most people who want concealed weapons probably shouldn’t be allowed to have them. Travis also joined in on the pussy whipped topic TnT were discussing all morning long. Somehow that led to a conversation about chick flicks. Todd, once again, proclaimed that there is no way he’s going to see “Under The Tuscan Sun”, especially after being given crap about it from all the guys for nearly a week now.

A bit later in the show, Jessica Dol joined the guys in studio for more pussy whipped talk. She is going to be in the van driven by DD Damian as he drives around a bunch of drunken women celebrating Lynn and Jessica’s birthdays. Lynn Taylor also called in and stated that Damian actually volunteered to drive, which led TnT to wonder whether or not he was pussy whipped into driving or if he wanted to go on his own accord in order to keep an eye on his girlfriend.

Later still, Jazz, Freak’s girlfriend, phoned in and said that she didn’t talk Damian into being the DD and joked with the guys about whether or not she has pussy whipped Damian already. James the Giant Peach also joined in on the conversation and gave a healthy ribbing to the Freak for agreeing to drive the women around. As the conversation continued, everyone discussed exactly how much money they’d have to be given in order to agree to do what Freak has agreed to. Peach said no amount of money, Jeremy said he’d do it for $100, Tyler said it would take about $5000 to put up with that situation, and if my memory serves me, Todd said he just wouldn’t do it at all.

BW returned later in the show with this morning’s e-news segment. There was talk about how ABC is going to keep John Ritter’s show on the air by writing his character out. The gang then discussed the death of the guy that wrote and performed “Flying Purple People Eater”, lap dances being banded in Los Angeles, Britney’s “Rolling Stones” photo spread, J. Lo’s visit to her psychic, and Playboy deciding to do a “Women of Wal-Mart” issue. TnT also spent a bit of time discussing hot West Side swing choir students with words printed on their tight short shorts. BW then wrapped up the newscast with a story about a German guy that cut off his finger and thumb as part of an insurance fraud case.

Before leaving the air today, TnT took a phone call from a police officer that shared a bunch of details about what is being done to help raise money for the Pratt family. I didn’t catch all of the details but according to TnT, they’re printed in today’s paper. I believe officers will be collecting money at all Wal-Mart stores on Saturday and at Lowe’s locations on Sunday. There is also a big feed, $10 per person and $20 per family, taking place at the police union and money is still being accepted at the police credit union off of 82nd and Hascall Street. Please pick up today’s paper for the article and make sure you do your part to help the Pratt family as he recovers from his terrible injuries in the hospital.

Well, that does it for the update today. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay and make sure to rejoin the guys tomorrow at 5:30am for the Thursday program. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
