TnT Show 09-19-2003

Friday 9-19-03

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning with some sack shaving talk. Tyler was a bit bored watching regular TV last night while his wife checked out Survivor so he sat upon the bed and attacked his sack with some scissors. He said, “I look like a little boy…with a really big penis.” The trimming exercise later landed him what sounded like a Diekman when his wife spotted his “freshly shorn sack”. Todd, Jeremy, and Black Tony all weighed in on the subject, each sharing their own sack shaving/trimming techniques. The guys then moved on to discuss Trav’s FWIW last night on the economy. TnT didn’t seem willing to accept Trav as a voice of knowledge when it comes to economics, asking, “What does he know?” They then moved on to a little hurricane talk, a discussion about fish taco farts, and there was some NFL talk as Todd picked his game of the week in Child Prodigy’s alleged, fake money pool.

BW came in a bit later with the newscast. On a sad note, Brian reported the passing of Officer Jason Pratt early this morning. Todd and Tyler sent their thoughts out to his wife and children and mentioned that they are still going to do the benefit at the Anchor Inn next Saturday to help raise money for the family. As the news continued, Brian read over a handful of horrible “heartland values” stories, which included discussion of how Tom Osborne’s mother-in-law, 92-years-old, was killed in a car accident as the 91-year-old driver veered off the road. From there, the gang discussed funky lake plants, the start of River City Neck-Up, a freakish snow storm in Alliance, the fossil of a 1500 pound guinea pig-like creature being found in Africa, hammock humping moose, and a heartwarming story about some Pennsylvania high school students that were involved in a broom-up-the-butt hazing incident. I believe that story led to BW’s best quote of the morning, “Hooked on colonics worked for me!” Brian then wrapped up the news with a story about an Arizona man being decapitated by a house.

Todd and Tyler spoke to Chris Matthews this morning. He used to host “Hard Ball” on MSNBC but now has his own show on Sunday mornings that airs on Channel 7 at 10am called “The Chris Matthews Show”. He was checking in from DC and the power was out due to the hurricane so he phoned in by candle light today. He talked with TnT about the hurricane for a bit and how spooky things were in Washington DC last night. From there, he spent a bit of time talking with Todd and Tyler about his thoughts on the Bush administration, the war in Iraq, and he even weighed in on the California gubernatorial race. It was a very interesting interview that I’m sure you’ll hear on an upcoming Best Of soon.

Travis came in this morning with the sports report. Along with delivering the sporting news, he got into a vicious argument with Todd and Tyler about the economy. On his FWIW last night he claimed that things have been going great for the last 4 months. TnT disagreed and the group went round and round on the points for a bit. They also all disagreed with each other over what to do in Iraq. TnT still seem to want to carpet bomb the entire country while Travis is of the opinion that the US should be helping in the reconstruction. Before bringing his time with the guys to a close, Travis gave his Lock of the Week. This week he has selected Colorado on the road getting 19 at Florida State.

At about 8am, actor/comedian Kevin Pollak joined Todd and Tyler in studio. The remainder of the show was spent discussing his career as a comedian and actor. He began with talk about a recent trip to London, moved on to discuss his Captain Kirk impression and meeting Shatner in person, and he also weighed in on the California race for the governor, which he said is just “weird”. As the visit continued, Kevin talked at length with Todd and Tyler about gambling, focusing on his love for poker and how he plays in Vegas, as well as his system for betting on NFL games. Basically, he bets the exact same amount of money on the underdog on every pro game each week except for the game his ‘49ers are playing in. He said he has a 68% winning steak this way.

In the middle of their Kevin Pollak interview, Dale, the 1-armed Subway guy that recently chased down a man that robbed his shop, joined Todd and Tyler in studio. He’s the same guy that was pissed at TnT for talking about him on the air, which spawned the “Who wants to kick our asses” game yesterday. Dale came to the studio today to make up with TnT, realizing that they really didn’t say anything bad about him and that they were just joking around when they asked, “How does a one-armed man make a sub?” He filled TnT in on all of the details of the robbery and how he was able to chase down the criminal. Dale also brought with him some sandwiches he made and gave them to Todd and Tyler.

As the show moved on, TnT continued their interview with Kevin Pollak. They opened up the phone lines and let listeners check in with questions for Pollak. During this time, he talked at length about “Usual Suspects” and described the script, which blew him away. There was talk about “A Few Good Men”, his roll on the Project Green Light show, and he also described what it was like learning from and working with some of the greatest actors of all time. Before wrapping up the interview, Todd and Tyler spent some time talking with Kevin about the hotties he’s worked with on screen. Kevin shared a few stories about his on-screen kisses, including his first kiss with Naomi Campbell.

It was another great interview with Kevin Pollak this morning. If you missed it, tune in to either the Best Of or Sunday night’s 10pm 3rd Shift Replay of this morning’s show. You can also catch Pollak performing at the Funny Bone tonight and tomorrow night. There may still be spaces left for his shows so call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 for information.

There was no e-news today due to the Kevin Pollak interview so BW just hung out in studio with the gang for the last bit of the show. Brian’s actually headed to Alaska for a bit to vacation and visit his dad so Trisha will be sitting in for him next week.

That does it for today’s update. Tune in Sunday night at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay of this morning’s show and make sure to rejoin Todd and Tyler on Monday at 5:30am for a new week of programming. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
