| Straight Pimpin ![]() | TnT Show 09-23-2003 Tuesday 9-23-03 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing the funeral of Officer Jason Pratt, which takes place today. Trisha was all dressed up for the somber occasion, as she will be covering it for Channel 7 this afternoon. The guys talked about what to expect and mentioned the route of the procession so their listeners could stand on the side of the road and show their support later in the morning. From there, the guys moved on to read a letter sent to them by a David City senior. The letter asked TnT about how to get into the radio business so they spent some time giving the student tips. At first, though, they seemed to steer the kid clear of the radio business but they changed their tune a bit later and offered up some helpful suggestions such as, “Get hired by your local station and do/learn everything you can.” Also early in the show, Trisha and Jeremy talked with TnT about a new TV show called “Joe Schmoe”, which sounded to TnT a lot like the idea their comedy friend Bobcat had told them about a few months ago. TnT were scheduled to speak to Bobcat later in the morning and planned to ask him about the project but Bobcat must have been held up somewhere because he didn’t call. Perhaps he’ll check in with the guys tomorrow. Following the “Joe Schmoe” talk, TnT spoke to Lynn Taylor. She and her girlfriends had their drunken night of partying last Friday, which Freak was the DD for. At one point in the night, Lynn called and left a message on someone’s voicemail. TnT phoned that voicemail and played the drunken Lynn call back for her on the air this morning. She was completely blitzed, which TnT found hilarious and Lynn found rather embarrassing. Trisha came in with the news this morning, as BW is still out of town visiting family in Alaska. She began with a bit more talk about the Officer Pratt funeral scheduled for today. The gang then moved on to discuss yet another Amber Alert out of Iowa, a story about a sex offender released from jail after serving 19 years that was just busted for playing grab ass at a mall after being out of jail for only 6 days, and there were a variety of other local stories. Trisha continued with the national news, which included discussion of Bush’s ratings, his upcoming speech to the UN today, and the gang had an odd conversation about whether or not the Target stores are owned by the French. After the news, TnT took a call from last night’s Monday Night Football party speed dater, Candace. She said she had a lot of fun speed dating and met some nice guys. One of which she plans to call today to set up a date for tomorrow. And while on the speed dating talk, Todd and Tyler phoned Sean Gnandt to find out whether or not he has made any further plans to take last week’s speed dater, Lisa, out on a date this week. The sleepy Sean made a couple of excuses for reasons he couldn’t hook up with Lisa easily but did say he planned to give her a call for a lunch date very soon. TnT then called Sean gay for not having the sack to be serious about setting up the date with the hottie that’s obviously into him. Following the “Gnandt’s a puss” talk, the guys took a few moments to read over a little more “This day in Todd and Tyler show history” from the daily updated archives. They went back to ’98 and ’99 this morning and read over a few tidbits of history. As they recalled one of those moments in particular, it brought back memories of what eventually led to a restraining order on a pissed off listener and a court appearance. Ah, the memories. As the show moved on, there was a bit more talk about Trisha’s story yesterday regarding her boyfriend and the gay sleepover/backrub incident. TnT wondered how often it actually happens that a couple will be going out for a long period of time before one tells the other that they’re gay. James the Giant Peach joined the guys in studio and after initially getting crap from TnT for being “James the Giant Throck Blocker” for his behavior during last night’s speed dating at Brewsky’s, Peach shared a story about a female friend of his. Evidentially the lady was going to marry her man and the night before, her soon-to-be spouse told her that his buddy was going on the honeymoon with them. The conversation progressed and it became clear that the guy was smoking his pal’s pole, which freaked out the woman and led to the cancellation of their wedding. Trisha then piped in with a similar story. Her tale involved a lady that was dating a guy who would only have anal sex with her. After two years or so of getting pounded, it became clear to her (finally), after everyone else realized long before, that the guy didn’t particularly have the ‘I dig vaginas’ gene. Travis stopped in today with this morning’s sports report. Along with delivering the sporting news, Trav talked with the guys a bit more about the movie his brother-in-law wrote called, “The Private Public”. As many of you recall, some of the cast and crew had to crash at Trav’s place while they were filming the movie a few years ago. Anyway, recently Travis mentioned that the movie “is quite possibly the worst movie ever made.” TnT got a kick out of that and evidentially word of Trav’s comments somehow made it all the way to L.A. because his brother-in-law, Justin, phoned TnT this morning to discuss Trav’s thoughts on the film. Travis continued to express his believe that the movie sucked and after some talk about the filming, details of the movie itself, and mention that it’s going to be showing on Showtime soon as well as a DVD release in October, TnT said they’d just wait to see it before agreeing with Travis. Shortly after their conversation with Trav’s brother-in-law, the screenwriter of “The Private Public”, the director of the film also called in, Dana “not the coach” Altman, grandson of legendary director Robert Altman. He continued the conversation about the film and then told TnT he’d drop them off a DVD today so they could watch it, which we found out at the end of this morning’s show that the DVD had arrived. Stay tuned for a review in the near future. Trisha rejoined the guys in studio with an early version of the e-news today, as she had to leave to cover Officer Pratt’s funeral. During the e-news she reported that the boss from WKRP, also known as the Maytag Man, has died at the age of 71, there is more profanity on TV now than in years past, and nobody watched the Emmy awards this year. J Medicine Hat joined the guys in studio this morning. He spent some time talking with TnT about a recent party he went to at his gay neighbors’ house in Arkansas. The gay guys, doctors, threw a “Queer Eye party” and had about 35 people over. Hat and his lady went to the party and while there, a little gay guy came up to J, pissed that his “white trash” ass was there, and while looking at Hat’s armload of tattoos said, “Somebody’s been busy with the ink pen today.” Hat was pissed, informed the little guy that the tattoos are real, and got a kick out of his offended reaction. Later in Hat’s visit with the guys, he offered up some cash to hump on Laurie, the phone sex operator that calls TnT ever now and then. She didn’t seem offended and, in fact, may have said yes to the proposition. The conversation was then followed up by an e-mail from another listener that said she’d boink Hat without him having to dish out any doe. As the conversation with Hat continued, he spent some time talking to the guys about his recent on-stage heart attack in Boise, ID. The gang then spent a bit of time talking about Hat’s “fatalistic” mindset before moving on to a discussion about a crank fiend Hat knows that used to be hot but is now covered in open sores, gangrene heroin legs, and more. Keep in mind that J Medicine Hat is appearing at the Funny Bone for a special X-Rated show tonight only so make sure you call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 for reservations to catch him tonight. Bobcat was supposed to phone the guys before the end of the show, as mentioned earlier in today’s update, but he didn’t make it in. Perhaps the gang will be able to reschedule and they’ll get to talk with Bobcat about his upcoming special engagement at the Funny Bone in early October. That does it for the update today. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay and make sure to rejoin the guys tomorrow at 5:30am for the Wednesday program. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
