| Straight Pimpin ![]() | TnT Show 09-24-2003 Wednesday 9-24-03 Todd and Tyler began their show this morning by mentioning that Bobcat, who they were supposed to interview yesterday, called after the guys got off the air. He had overslept and felt bad for missing the interview and told the guys he’d call in today instead. The guys also took an early morning phone call from Travis. He was headed out this morning to cover the Thursday night Husker game and thought he’d check in from the airport before leaving town. He talked with TnT briefly about how Kent Pavelka is going to sit in for him on FWIW until the end of the week. TnT thought Trav’s selection for the FWIW stand-in was a great choice, as Kent’s commentary topics are surely more boring than even Trav’s, which would make Trav seem even more necessary to the KM3 team. Also early in the show, Trisha Meuret from Channel 7 joined the guys in studio to take the place of both BW and Travis. She spent a handful of hours yesterday on TV covering the Officer Pratt service so she was quite emotionally exhausted today. She talked with TnT about the funeral and the coverage, which TnT watched much of, and the guys then mentioned their benefit for the Pratt family taking place this Saturday night at the Anchor Inn. The guys then moved on to read an e-mail from a guy that’s mad at a hot bank teller at his bank that has never paid any attention to him until he recently brought in a 5-digit deposit. At that time, she perked up and offered to help the guy spent his cash. The man, having pined over the teller for some time, immediately found her much less attractive when he realized she finally started to pay attention to him when she realized his wallet was heavy. The guys discussed the e-mail for a bit and then moved on. Trisha delivered this morning’s newscast a bit later in the morning. The guys started off by discussing how unnecessary River City Round-Up is and expressing their thoughts on how one of the more rural areas of Nebraska should host the event and leave Omaha to host more metropolitan activities. That might help Omaha have less of a “cow town” image. The gang then talked about more Nebraska West Nile deaths, Trisha shared off-air with TnT her reasons for not liking Travis, Todd detailed his sack trimming tale from last night, the guys discussed the Pope pooping, and Trisha wrapped up the news with a heartwarming story about a German teen that whacked off his tongue and penis after ingesting some hallucinogenic tea. At about 7am this morning Dr. Ed joined the guys live from his basement in Tyler, TX. The gang began their visit with a little talk about Rice football before diving into the medically related questions of the day. Such topics covered included West Nile, popping anal tags, stool softeners, Canadian prescription medication, heartburn remedies, sex drives, the qualities of Dr. Ed’s indiscriminate penis as it relates to sensations, burning vaginas, and cracking penises. Dr. Ed will be rejoining the guys for another session in about two weeks so if you didn’t have the chance to get your question on the air today, save it for next time. A bit later in the show Travis phoned in again. This time he was in Memphis, TN. He reported that he hadn’t had any troubles so far on his trip, which is odd for Trav considering every time he travels he comes back with horror stories about the trip for TnT. He then asked a question of Dr. Ed about some chest pains he had last night and asked whether or not it could relate to some “nasty Chinese”, which TnT got a kick out of. Following Trav’s call, Trisha came in and delivered the morning’s sports report. Following sports, Todd and Tyler spoke to Catherine Crier of Court TV. She’s got a new book out called “A Case Against Lawyers”, which focuses on some of the problems the legal system has right now. TnT spent some time talking with Catherine about the effects of frivolous lawsuits, the problems with California’s “3 Strikes” policy, creepy defense attorneys, and societies general lack of accountability. She also shared a few thoughts from the book on how our legal system could be fixed up a bit, ideas TnT seemed to agree with. Trisha rejoined the guys a bit later along with Lester St. James. He’ll be sitting in for Trisha for the remainder of the week, as she’s headed to Boston with her hottie friends to pick up short guys. At least that’s what I got out of the discussion because when Trish came in, she got into a lengthy argument with TnT about how guys on the East Coast are shorter than guys here, something TnT disputed. After eventually settling the argument, TnT and Trish talked with Lester about what he’ll be required to do in terms of news, sports, and e-news reporting. They basically gave him an idea of what to expect. A bit later in the conversation, BW checked in from Alaska and basically he just did a Tim O’Neill commercial. As promised, Bobcat Goldwaith phoned the guys this morning. He’s got a new movie called “The Perry Project” coming to Comedy Central on October 12th. The movie, in which Bobcat follows around a guy named Perry who thinks he’s in a real movie but really isn’t, is sort of a smaller, more twisted version of “The Truman Show”. Bobcat seemed excited about the film but admitted that it’s very strange. He sent TnT an advanced copy, which they’ll watch before Bobcat joins them in studio next Friday. That’s right, Bobcat will be performing at the Funny Bone for a special engagement on October 3-4th. Bobcat also talked about his upcoming gig as co-host on the Jimmy Kimmel show in the near future. It was great to hear from Bobcat again and everyone, including Bobcat himself, is excited about his in-studio visit next week. Trisha wrapped up today’s show with a bit of e-news. There was some talk about Ben and J. Lo, a conversation about TV stations not airing various TV shows like how Channel 7 didn’t air the first month of “NYPD Blue” when it first came out, and a few other e-news-ish stories as well. Travis also checked in one last time from the road as he had arrived in the Jackson, Mississippi airport just before TnT got off the air. He’ll check in again as the week moves on and should be back on the sports desk with TnT on Monday. That does it for the Wednesday update. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay of this morning’s show and make sure to rejoin the guys tomorrow at 5:30am for the Thursday program. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
