TnT Show 09-29-2003

Monday 9-29-03

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing some irresponsible journalism on the part of both Channel 6 and the local paper. As we all know, TnT and Z-92 put together a fundraiser for the Pratt family, which took place on Saturday down at the Anchor Inn. Neither of the two media entities gave the event any pre-event publicity, which may have helped to inform more people of the event and therefore increased the money raised for the family. The paper also didn’t do a very good job reporting details after the event, neglecting to mention that TnT hosted and also leaving out all of the hard work James the Giant Peach and everyone else put into setting the fundraiser up. The guys mentioned that they were not trying to be glory hounds but they did find it curious that yet another TnT and Z-92 related event was overlooked by the very same paper that, due to it’s own agenda, won’t call the Quest Arena the Quest Arena.

Following their brief rant about the paper and Channel 6, the guys moved on to talk about the actual fundraiser itself. More than $40,000 was raised between the Anchor Party and Roz’s poker run on Saturday. The guys discussed the turnout, Mrs. Pratt’s appearance, the bands, and the auction, during which Todd bought the Fleetwood Mac tambourine. All in all, it was another successful event for the Pratt family.

The guys also discussed a bit more about their weekends, which included some football talk. The guys were also joined in studio early by another potential calendar hottie, Monique. She talked with the guys about being born in Germany, her ebony hotness, and how she met her current boyfriend of 4 years, Quasimoto, in a tittie bar. The guys tried to get Monique to admit to being bi-sexual but she wouldn’t come right out and say it. TnT did, though, have a very valid point. How often do you see a hot woman in a strip club that’s not a dancer who isn’t bi-sexual?

Trisha joined the guys in studio a bit later and spent some time talking about her recent trip to Boston. She was amazed at all of the tall guys she saw, jokingly referring back to her idiotic statement last week about how there are no tall guys anywhere in the world other than in the US’s Midwest. Also during this time, former Husker Rob Zatechka joined TnT in studio. He hung out for a while and joined in on the topics of the day.

The news itself consisted of conversations about attendance at recent arena events, how President Dubya signed the “Do Not Call” law, a gorilla on the loose in Boston, a Lincoln rotty attack of a 4-year-old girl, a beer truck spill, and an Australian 5-year-old showing his classmates how to make a bong out of a Coke bottle during Show-N-Tell.

Also during the news, Trisha explained to TnT her “two rivers” rule for cheating on boyfriends. According to Trisha, when she and her girlfriends were in college there was an understood “two rivers” rule. If there happened to be two rivers between any of the women and their men, the girls could go ahead and sleep around with (or suck face, whatever) whomever they wanted. Also, if there wasn’t quite two rivers separating the couples and the girls really wanted a new piece of ass for the night, spilled beer on a table could substitute for river #2, therefore making whatever guy they wanted to hump on that night a totally legitimate target. TnT spent some time discussing the two river rule theory and offered to take phone calls from listeners with similar rules. Surprisingly, nobody phoned in to give themselves up.

Todd and Tyler announced the details of their first Prime Time Football Flyaway contest this morning. The contest will consist of you listening every morning at about 7am for TnT to tell you how many songs you need to listen for during the day. Then during the rest of the day, listen for all of the songs and be the 25th caller when the last one is played. You’ll win a Z-92 25th Anniversary jersey and be entered into the hat along with the rest of the winners for that week. Then on Monday, TnT will draw out the lucky winner who will receive a trip to San Francisco to see the 49ers play on Sunday and the Raiders play on Monday Night Football. There will also be a few other trips to give away in the near future but this is the trip you’ll be trying to win this week.

Trav came in with this morning’s sports report. Also during his visit, he talked with TnT and Rob Zatechka at length about steroid use in college football and the NFL. Travis also mentioned that he didn’t have any trouble while traveling this time, although he did get stuck next to a Native American that hogged Trav’s view of the window and stunk like somebody dropped a bucket of BO on him. Trav also got stuck on two consecutive planes with a flight attendant that was auditioning for Broadway, it seemed. Trav had to listen to her crap twice.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in this morning and delivered a pretty funny commentary on how he’s mad that women always get out of speeding tickets by dropping the “I’m having my period” card. At one point in his commentary, he referenced “a truck full of supermodel butt holes”, which as disturbing as that might visually be, was funny as hell. We’ll here more from Larry as the week moves on.

More potential calendar hotties came into the studio all morning long. There were quite a few of them and I didn’t catch any of their names. The parade of potential pin-ups will continue up until Wednesday, which is the last day you ladies can get your photos submitted for consideration for the 2004 calendar.

Trisha returned later in the show with this morning’s e-news segment. During her report, TnT got into an argument about a tape Todd had made for Tyler of a recent episode of “Nip/Tuck”. Tyler said the show wasn’t on the tape while Todd said it was. The two went round and round for a bit, both admitting to VCR incompetence in one way or another. That discussion led to talk about Tivo and it’s capabilities. The guys later had a lengthy discussion about how you can tell the difference between Japanese and Chinese people. They got a little help from a Vietnamese woman that phoned the show and dropped the “big eyes and eat hamburgers” card on TnT, which was hilarious.

Well, that does it for the Monday update. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay and make sure to rejoin the guys tomorrow at 5:30am for the Tuesday show. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
