| Straight Pimpin ![]() | TnT Show 10-10-2003 Friday 10-10-03 Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning by discussing last night’s Fleetwood Mac show at the new Qwest arena. They were pleased to announce that the sound was great despite recent complaints they’ve heard from people who have attended other shows. They also mentioned that they had no trouble getting in or out of the area and parking was just fine. Several listeners also phoned in early on to discuss the show and throughout the morning, TnT happily bragged about their excellent front row seats. The gang also discussed how Stevie Nicks dedicated “Landslide” to an Omaha guy she knew 15-years ago named Jack Peterson. They speculated that the guy she dedicated the song to had humped on her back then and decided to spend a bit of time this morning tracking down the guy to confirm. A bit later in the show, Jeremy was suckered by a listener claiming to be Jack Peterson who only called to get in a lame “Stevie is fat” joke. Later though, TnT got in touch with the actual guy but he wouldn’t go on the air with them or give them any details. He did, though, reference being old enough to be her dad back in the late ‘80s, which led the guys to believe Stevie and he didn’t have sex. I guess we’ll never know. TnT welcomed Black Tony to the studio this morning for another Black Friday. Shortly into his visit, the guys took a couple of hate calls, one from a brother and one from a sister, that didn’t like Tony because they don’t believe he accurately represents the brotha population. Even though the callers were hammering on Tony, it all seemed to be in fun. TnT did, though, offer to let the two callers stop into the studio next Friday and teach Black Tony how to be more like a brother. And on a related note, TnT were sent yet another listener submitted song about Dr. John being locked up. Today’s tune was a rap song, 52-seconds in length, and it was surprisingly understandable. Perhaps we’ll hear more listener submitted songs in the future. BW came in with today’s newscast. The gang discussed how smoothly last night’s concert went, a rusty gun smuggler busted at the airport, bad checks at the Mart, a Bennington E. Coli outbreak, daycare for bus riders, Japanese train gropers, whales with the bends, and Tyler’s nasty smelling ass. Todd and Tyler spoke to actress Joan Cusack this morning. She’s currently the center point for a media blitz by US Cellular. She talked with the guys about doing the commercials and how it helps to keep her in Chicago and close to her two small kids. She then went on to talk a bit about some of the old movies she was in with her brother John as well as discussing her roll in the surprise success, “School Of Rock” with Jack Black. Joan also talked to the guys about her short-lived sitcom, the demise of which she attributed to the “formula” model for comedies. Joan was very cool with TnT this morning and she actually seemed to enjoy talking to the guys. Everyone in studio agreed that she came across in the interview exactly like the person she portrays in many of her rolls, friendly and easy to talk to. I’m sure you’ll hear this interview again on an upcoming Best Of so make sure to tune in. Trav came in today and delivered this morning’s sports report. He also selected this week’s lock as Colorado at home giving up 6 ½ to Kansas. Bet on it! He’s 3 and 3, after all. Jimmy Dore from the Funny spent a couple of hours hanging out with TnT this morning. He joined in on the topics of the day, discussed being a Cubs fan because he was a poor kid, and got into a lengthy discussion abut being single and loving it. He also referenced being a pothead, which became quite clear during the e-news. Jimmy attempted to join in on some of the e-news discussion but came across as though he was totally baked. It was very funny. Make sure you get out to the Bone this weekend to catch Jimmy’s show. He was great today. Call the Bone Phone at 493-8036 for reservations and keep in mind that there is just one show on Saturday night instead of two because of the stupid ass Husker game. Bobcat phoned TnT this morning to remind everyone of the Sunday night premiere of “Windy City Heat: The Perry Project” on Comedy Central. He told TnT that Perry was shown the actual movie that is going to air and the idiot still thought Bobcat and his cohorts were just pulling one over on Comedy Central and not him. Bobcat also talked a bit about co-hosting the Jimmy Kimmel show this week. He said he was 4-feet away from getting on camera with a Todd and Tyler hat before a network stage monkey made him remove it. Also during the Bobcat interview, something funky happened to the phone lines. After hearing a faint click, it seemed that someone else’s conversation was bleeding over the line. TnT thought Bobcat was messing with them and Bobcat thought the same of TnT. In the background they could hear an occasional “wha wha wha whaaaaa”, sound effects, and silly voices saying strange things like “I’m Mr. Ed!” Nobody knew what was happening but they all thought it was rather amusing (and annoying at the same time). Anyway, make sure to check out “Windy City Heat: The Perry Project” on Comedy Central on Sunday night at, I believe, 8pm. BW returned with today’s e-news later in the show. There was some talk about TuPac’s mother, all diamond underwear, Chong going to jail, and some “This day in history”. Jimmy Dore from the Bone also attempted to join in the conversation, as mentioned earlier, but he was high. Well, that’s the Friday update. Tune in Sunday night at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay and make sure to rejoin the guys Monday at 5:30am for a new week of shows. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
