TnT Show 10-15-2003

Wednesday 10-15-03

Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning with a continuation of yesterday’s topic, the Kellen Huston punch of the Missouri fan. The guys seemed okay with Huston getting a 1-game suspension but they stated that it should have been more like 3 games. TnT also mentioned how KM3’s Joe Jordan went to yesterday’s press conference and asked some tough questions of Solich, which pissed the coach off. They also mentioned the feedback Trav received on his FWIW commentary about the Huston punch and after hearing more blind support for the football player, they said, “We’re sad. If you think that’s justified, you’re insane.” They took some calls on the topic and touched briefly on the Shatel article about it, too. TnT later discussed last night’s Cubs loss, which seemed to make both of them quite happy.

BW came in with the news a bit later. The gang spent some time discussing the new slogan that Omaha is going to use to replace that piece of $750,000 crap “Rare. Well Done.” The new slogan is “O!” Yep, that’s the whole damn thing. BW also discussed more West Nile deaths, how the state fair sucks, Chinese guys in space, conjoined twins, and a story about an asteroid that missed the earth by just 52,000 miles. Brian then wrapped up the newscast with a heartwarming story about a pregnant woman that chased a 4-year-old around a McDonalds and rubbed hot French fries on his face when she finally caught him.

Dr. Ed joined TnT live from his basement in Tyler, TX this morning. He spent several hours hanging out with the guys and answering medically related questions from them and their listeners. There were a variety of subjects touched on today including why guys get burned out after reaching orgasm, pot laws and medicine, chunky loads, the drug Rush was hooked on, tickling one’s colon, and battery licking.

Larry the Cable Guy checked in today and told us all that he’s scheduled to get his butt fingered by a doctor today at 3pm. He asked Dr. Ed how much pain he could expect and how many fingers the Dr. will use. Larry also wondered whether or not he should “take a big poop” before going to the appointment, to which Dr. Ed said “No.” Larry then followed up his question to Dr. Ed with a skit commentary based on the idea of President Bush getting a White House visit from his fictional redneck Cousin, Lester. It was pretty funny.

Travis came in a bit later and delivered this morning’s sports report. He spent some time talking with TnT about his appearance on the Greta Van Susteren show on Fox news last night in which he was asked about the Huston punch and video. From what TnT saw, Greta was terribly ill prepared for the interview and came across looking like an idiot. Trav also talked with the guys about his FWIW feedback, which left TnT feeling “sad” and stating that they think the blind love of the team, Husker fan neurosis, is “dangerous”.

TnT also asked Trav about Joe Jordan’s questions to coach Solich yesterday. The guys thought that the coach looked “devil-like” and pissed at Joe for asking non suck-up questions that actually related to something important. Trav agreed that Solich did look pretty upset. Later in the show, Joe Jordan of KM3 called in and talked with TnT about the questions and the coach’s reaction. Joe said that Solich wasn’t very happy with the line of questioning and said that the other normal, butt kissing sports reporters were quite uncomfortable with it. One even tried to help the coach out by changing the subject from Joe’s questions about Huston to how the team looks against A&M this week.

J Medicine Hat phoned in this morning and talked to TnT for a bit about his upcoming Funny Bone appearances, which begin tonight and extend through next Monday’s X-rated show. Hat also told TnT that he and his wife are going to get a divorce, he may end up moving to Boise, ID, and that luckily he has a prenuptial agreement. Hat will be joining the guys in studio tomorrow and Friday so tune in for all of the juicy, powder coated details.

All morning long, Todd and Tyler referred to reports of a lion being spotted on Dodge Street. They seemed to be serious about it, yet at the same time, it they also seemed to have a tongue-in-cheek tone. The report seemed to be sparked by the media’s obsession with looking for a second cougar after the one found near the Funny Bone a few weeks ago. Several listeners checked in to confirm the lion spotting today. Later in the show, TnT broke the news that they actually sent out one of their interns, Heath, in a lion costume and had him parade up and down Dodge Street. Evidentially, someone saw him and phoned the police because 3 cruisers pulled up and issued him a ticket for Disorderly Conduct.

One of the guys who was hanging out with the 6’5” Heath dressed in the lion costume phoned TnT and told them all about the police arriving. Later, TnT spoke to Heath and he gave some more details. Heath told TnT that he was walking up and down Dodge Street and over the pedestrian bridge for a couple of hours. Then, a reporter from the paper showed up and tried to ask him a bunch of questions. That prompted Heath to run around to avoid the paper people. The police later showed up and gave him the ticket, which was voided out a bit later. The police seemed cool about the situation, realizing it wasn’t really a big deal, but had to show up and check it out because they had received a call.

Later in the show, Heath joined TnT in studio (still wearing the way too small for him costume). The gang continued their discussion of the idea for the bit and the police showing up. A bit later, Michelle from KM3 stopped by with a cameraman and interviewed TnT and Heath. The story will most likely air on KM3 tonight so make sure you check out the newscasts.

Todd and Tyler interviewed Valerie Cruz from FX’s new hit show, “Nip/Tuck”. She spent some time talking with TnT about how she got the roll and the development of her character, Dr. Grace Santiago, thus far in season 1. Valerie also told TnT that there will be a season 2 and it will most likely go 15 episodes, which pleased everyone. The gang went into some details of the show, such as the surgeries shown, and then dove into the hotter subject of whom Valerie’s character is banging and will be banging in the future. The guys mentioned that if you haven’t caught any of the shows yet, FX is beginning a marathon of “Nip/Tuck” beginning tonight with the pilot episode and episode #1. It starts at 9pm Central and goes to 11:30pm and will continue each night from 9pm to 11pm until the season finale on October 21st at 9pm. I’ve missed them all so I’ll be taping them in order get all caught up with TnT!

BW came in with the e-news a bit later. Mixed between his gripping stories, TnT spoke to the director Dana Altman about the movie he filmed here called, “The Private Public”. Trav referred to the movie as, “quite possibly the worst film ever made”. Dana sent TnT a DVD copy so after they watch it, they’ll let us know whether or not they agree with Travis. The guys also spoke to Scottie from Husker Hounds. He was on the news last night because he saw some guys shoplifting from his store near 132nd and Center Street and followed them down to 30th and Bancroft. On the phone with the police the whole time, when the bad guys arrived at their run-down gas station clubhouse, 10 cruisers screeched to a halt and the robbers were busted. Scottie told TnT today that the same group has been ripping him off for a couple of years now to what amounts to more than $10,000. Luckily, though, the pissed of Scottie had finally had enough and took matters into his own hands. Now the bad guys are in the pokey.

That does it for today’s update. Tune in tonight at 10pm for the 3rd Shift Replay and make sure to rejoin the guys tomorrow at 5:30am for the Thursday show. Thanks for watching. Good night. -Corby-
