I miss Duke calling in to the show just "FREAKIN" about the huskers.

I still have Duke on my voicemail at home. I have to save him every hundred days. I miss him also. Duke never got to see the 5-6 season. He would have loved my crap!!

I was out of town when he passed away, and remember hearing about his "burial" on the letter E. Thanks again to the guys for updating me. May he rest in peace in the Stadium.

I only have been listening for a couple of years so I never had the chance to experience the Duke. It sounds like he was a great man.

Duke was a great guy. I don't want to go into details but Duke's death was a long hard battle that I wish he could have won. God bless you duke!

I remember when I found out he had passed. You know that empty feeling you get in your gut. It sucked. Duke is right up there with my favorite callers to the show of all time.

Duke was the one caller who made me laugh every time he called. His "God dammit buckethead" was the best. He could go on and on like a Jim Rome caller but he didn't have it written downand it wasn't just sports. Smart guy, he is missed.

I didn't know Duke for a long time before he died, but the times I was around him, he was always the best. He got it. He understood what the show is about and he could play along like no one else before or since.

In my days of working for the TNT show on a full time basis, I did a lot of dumb stuff that resulted in pain and/or humiliation for me, but I could not have been prouder to be there the morning that Donnie and I spread his ashes in the end zone at Memorial Stadium. The guy loved the Huskers and to make that his final resting place was the only right thing to do. It was the least we could do.

Rest in peace, man!

Probably only a handfull of people know this but, Duke was TNT's first choice as a call screener in Aug. of 97. For whatever reason he turned it down and I got the job, at least that's what T-Bass had told me. I can't help but wonder what the show would have been like with him hanging up on all of you instead of me. He was one of the best people I've even known, and the world is a worse place now that he is gone.

I know the turf has been changed but, I seemes like yesterday Puss and I were walking through the sw gate that was open due to construction, we met Ron Brown as we walked to the field. Our original plan was to run from endzone to endzone spreading him out as we ran, well post 9/11 we decided to go more low key. The last "A" in NEBRASKA in the south endzone is where we laid him to rest with a quick and quiet lords prayer and a final "say hi to Devaney and GO BIG RED!"

Every once i awhile i will break out the duke best of on that is on hairlip, remind me and when the guys are gone in march, i will bust it out once again. your the man duke.

I remember what I was doing when the guys announced on the air that we lost Duke. It was at the end of the show when they said it and when they were signing off for the day, it sounded like Todd was starting to lose it a little. His voice was kind of shaky, and on the cd, this part was cut off right before they said "we'll miss ya Duke." It was a really heartfelt goodbye and it left me with a weird feeling the rest of the day event though I never knew him personally. I still miss his hilarious calls and his voice. Who do you think he would vote for in the governor race? (sarcasm)
