ok, ive heard Travis use this statistic alot. Now I cant remember the exact percentage, but he loves to bring up that (approximately) 90% of americans are god loving christians.
First I would just like to say that I hate statistics...you could easily manipulate the numbers just to get the outcome you want.....anyway...i just want to defunk this 90% crap:


OK: if 90% of americans are christian then I would have to say:
about 20% of those just say they are christian, they dont go to church, dont read the bible, just say they are because their family is or because it sounds good
another 30% are those families that beat their wives and children but go to church to confess their sins and say a few verbages and everything becomes alright
30% more are those religious closed minded right wing freaks who think that the word god is case sensitive and that 'G'od is better than 'g'od and that homosexuality is a sin even though its been around in history for hundreads of years and from what I read and seen that it was accepted, even within royalty and clergy. And by the way, where in the hell does it say that the church 'owns' marriage. There was marriage in the Native Indian cultures wasnt there? Also, werent most marriages back in the day not out of love, but to increase ones families wealth and land......you call that sacred? Sorry, off track there.
and the last 20% of those 90% christians are the ones who use the bible and it teaching for what it was made for and not be blinded by it and let it rule their lives.



Eh..tired of writing, not really sure what my point was anymore....just dont have many outlets to vent in...so thank you to TNT Unauthorized for giving me a place to bitch.

It depends on what definition you give you Christian. Catholics consider themselves Christian, but born agains don't consider Cathlics Christian.

the 90% statistic may define 'Christian' as somebody that believes in God, which isn't accurate.

It has been my expierience, and I have attended several religous facilities as a youth, that 50% of denominations consider other denominations as unworthy of Heaven. Hence why I am a well rounded degenerate now. :laugh:

I tell you what,I went through 12 years of Catholic education (by no choice of my own), and I'm 33 now ,from experience I have learned that being a christian is basically believing in someone or something more powerful than you.I am not trying to change the thread by no means,religious is the last thing I am.It was burned into me too much,and the Air Force kind of showed me that they had a handle in how things turn out.I believe in myself now,that's it!!!!
