President Bush's disapproval rate is down to 50% his lowest ever, actually the lowest approval rating of ANY president. They questioned if people actually waited until they a couple months after they voted to become educated.

2ox - I want you to know that everyone has the highest respect for the soldiers over there. I am sorry that we went to war over oil and to avenge someones father.

I wish I could remember what TnT said about letting everyone who supports the 'war' going over to fight and bringing our children home. Anyone???

MMM wish I could remember too, I was listening to the show when they made that comment..I think it was something like if you support the war then maybe you should go over there and fight? or something to that effect..agian I am not really sure..and 2ox I echo the same thing mmm says I have the highest respect for our soilders over there..

I did.... And I have to say the war has nothing to with oil or his dad (well maybe a little for his dad). But It has everything to do with Iraq being in the center of the map and us drawing all the bad guys from other countries into Iraq and nailing their ass to the Wall! What TnT fail to do, such as the main media, is report ALL the news from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Thank you guys for the support I really do appreciate it. So does my son. Hes a good kid...well hes no kid anymore, that innocence was lost within the first week of the war...hes a fine young man and I'm very proud of him. I'm proud of all our men and women in uniform, and very grateful for the sacrifices they make on a daily basis.

And thender, if I understand you correctly, you were in the military and served in the middle east. If thats true, thank you for your service son, I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. And for the rest of your post, about the reasons were over there....I hear you brother, most people aren't getting the whole story.

Thanks 2ox but I am actually a Gulf War vet who did his time in Germany gaurding the base perimiter against ragheads and actually did chase two off from trying to cut through the fence. I do have alot of friends and some family over their now, though. We just welcomed back the 168th Infantry this week and I have talked to a few about what is going on in Afghanistan. Sooooo much of what is going on has not been reported and these boys are pissed!!

I wish your boy all the best and God speed!

I'm sorry,but I,too must chime in real quick.I too was in the original Gulf War.Spent my time in the air over there making sure our fighters and greound troops were safe from any fighters they had.I too wish your son the absolute best.Let him know the vets are thinking of him and what all the troops are doing and wish them home very soon.

Why Iraq? It's one of those big picture questions. There are a billion muslims and a good 30% have no problem killing Americans. It's not that they are born bad people, but their interpretation of their reiligion makes them bad. When the oil does run out in 50-75 years they will make their claim on other's resources and use religion to fuel that conquest. Hello one big ass World War.

A democracy in Iraq will maybe diffuse the hold that religion has on those sorry people. It would probably be more effective if the US didn't have a christian wacko in the White House at the same time. Iraq has a more sectarian populace, abundant resources, centrally located in the region, and just happened to have an actual evil dictator ripe for removal.

With a great deal of luck, a stable democracy will flurish and spread so that when the oil does run out, the world's other democratic nations will help these now poor democracies. And just maybe prevent one huge war.

I just thought I'd bring up something that made my brain die. Awhile back during the election I was watching CNN and some Christian rock group association or whatever were backing Bush. The quote from this hick was: 'I don't like paying 2 bucks a gallon for gas, and I don't like everybody losing their jobs...but a million babies are being killed by these abortion clinics'.

I wanted to literally...kill myself. If there were a sharp object next to me at the time I would have.

I am sure that anti-abortion, anti-stem cell, religious freak didn't even bother with doing any research into actual facts. Lets not forget about the 16,000 men, women, and children that die everyday in Africa. (Sorry I have strong beliefs)

I'm a moderate simply based on not caring. Ya' know what I mean? Maybe if the right-wingers would try and help out the lower and middle class more they'd also help supress abortion rates. I am very thankful for all that we have as Americans, and without the Military - we wouldn't have it. So, Thank You. I am proud to be an American and I support our Military 110%.
