Todd and Tyler started off their show this morning with a brief review of their weekends. They hosted the Battle of the Bands contest at the Anchor Inn on Saturday but held off on announcing the winner until later in the program. From all accounts, the event was great and every band sounded excellent. Also while at the Anchor on Saturday, Todd and Tyler ran into Officer Jarred Cruise. They were both a bit taken aback when they met him, jokingly asking him ‘’Are you gonna hit me?’’ but after talking to him, they found out he doesn’t hold any grudges against the guys for all of their comments about his situation. First Scott Frost, now Jarred Cruise. How long before Roger Van shows up in studio to give TnT a hug?

Also early in the show, the guys spent some time discussing an article in the paper written by Christine Laeu about last night’s Eagles concert. The article referenced the Eagles as an old band and the author compared them to Bob Dole. TnT thought it was rather stupid and pointed out that some of the biggest touring bands this summer are older guys, Paul McCartney, Aerosmith, the Who, Elton John. They figured Laeu to be a young 20-something reporter who took the ‘’Look at all the old rock stars’’ angle as an easy approach to forming her article. While discussing it, the guys took a call from Child Prodigy. He was at the concert last night and gave a detailed description of the show. Later, Big Pussy joined TnT in studio and talked about the evening as well. He, too, enjoyed the concert.

Brian came in with his newscast this morning. During his report, TnT went off on a tangent and told us about their 3-on-3 softball game that they played in Elkhorn yesterday. Todd, Tyler, Donnie, Brian, Joe from Blue House and his wife played a condensed version of the game that came to a 22-6 conclusion. As they described the action, they discussed the various playing attributes of each player. Todd and Tyler both seemed to be pretty proficient softball players. Not much was said for Brian. It was mentioned that Donnie was utterly horrible and needed some Ridlin. Joe’s wife performed well while Joe himself was pretty bad. In fact, TnT said that he threw like a girl and even when attempting a full swing, it was as if he was bunting.

Dave Rimington stopped by the studio and hung out for the remainder of this morning’s show. He recently wrapped up his youth football camp in town. He spent some time talking about that and Scott Frost’s part in this year’s activities. Later, the guys were talking about their time at the Anchor Inn over the weekend. Dave mentioned he had spent quite a bit of time there as well and then told TnT about a very interesting woman who approached him. Dave said that the lady mentioned she has a hard time finding men who can keep up with her sexual appetite. She then elaborated and said that she masturbates 18 times a day! The guys all felt as though the woman was most likely exaggerating a bit because after they did a little calculation, the woman would have had to twist off twice just in the time she was speaking to Rimington at the Anchor in order to keep up with that rate of production.

As mentioned earlier, TnT hosted the Battle of the Bands contest at the Anchor on Saturday night. They announced this morning’s winner as the Noise Next Door. Congratulations guys! TnT tried to phone the winners but were unable to reach anyone. Shortly thereafter, Brian from the Noise called them back. He seemed appreciative to have the opportunity to kick off this year’s Z-Bash 2002 and thanked everyone for their votes. Several members of the other competing bands phoned in and offered congratulations to the Noise Next Door and no one really seemed to be upset that their band didn’t win.

Travis came in with a sports report this morning. He also told TnT about his wonderful weekend in western Iowa, which included participation in a Bouncy Boxing match with the Republican candidate for governor. Travis said that he ran out of breathe about 25 seconds into the fight and ended up getting knocked out before the 1-minute marker. According to Trav, even though he was at a Catholic function or two, the people of western Iowa were giving him a lot of love to pass on to Todd and Tyler.

The guys spent a little time this morning discussing their fears. There was a story about a man who was bitten by a Brown Recluse spider that spawned the topic. After taking a few phone calls from people with experience in Brown Recluse bites and getting the details of exactly what kind of damage the creatures do to human flesh, they all discussed some of their own fears. Brian can’t deal with spiders, Donnie hates snakes, Tyler is deathly afraid of rats, and in one of the funniest phobias I’ve ever heard of, Todd is scared of catfish. Yes, catfish. Calls on their phobias and fishing poured in for a while as everyone tried to figure out how in the hell anyone can be scared of catfish. It was hilarious.

After sports, TnT continued their conversation with Dave Rimington He mentioned that he’s headed to Costa Rica to do a little fishing next week. That spawned a discussion about something Todd saw in the paper over the weekend. Evidentially, there’s some kind of Chinese snake-fish that has been released into the waters in a lake here. It’s very carnivorous, it can go 4 days without water, and the bloody thing can slither from one pond/river to another. From the sounds of it, this creature is wreaking havoc here in the States. Throughout their discussion of the animal, Tyler seemed to be slightly less than interested in the conversation. Then, once someone mentioned the fact that the fish eats cats and could be in lake Zorinski, he perked up. Tyler then joked about riding his bike around the lake and being eaten by the killer fish.

Later in the show, Brian returned with an entertainment report. Several highlights from today’s e-news include a list of the top 10 grossing concerts of the summer and the top 10 worst televisions shows in history. TnT spent some time discussing the shows on the list, trying to remember some, vividly recalling others. They played a couple of the theme songs to a few of the shows including the one to ‘’My Mother The Car’’ and ‘’Air Wolf’’ (which wasn’t on the list). Following that discussion, Brian read the best wedding announcement ever. The announcement was full of the normal stuff we’ve heard in past wedding announcements but this one went a step further. Not only did they tell us of their wedding, their plans, and their jobs/education, the couple went into great detail about how they met and their first date! It was pretty ridiculous.
