Throcks: 100 | ipods & the end of civilization may i begin by saying, i do have an ipod. anyway, i was finding the talk this morning somewhat interesting. I do like that Tyler, by the end, realized they sounded like grandpa! Anyway, may we all agree that there is nothing wrong with listening to something to pass the time, and it doesnt mean your ignoring your own personal thoughts....i do it every morning from 6-10:30. They were latently saying everyone listening at that exact time was 'stupid' for not just being able to sit without constant stimuli. Another point, is in their job they get to talk and be entertained, but many of us are just workinging on our own or in smaller groups, and listening to radio like TNT, or perhaps an ipod, gets us through the day. 8 or so hours is too much time for personal reflection. same thing with working out, if your going to jog a couple miles or whatever, sometimes its nice to just think, but other times you need that music to motivate. now...having said all that, i agree that people who are listening to music in line at mcdonalds need to go ahead and tolerate the 40 seconds of musicless reality..but other than that extreme the guys discounted something many people enjoy in moderation. this topic just really got to me because the guys would probably agree with most of this, but i know how it is when a group of guys get to agreeing about something..and like i said, tyler somewhat acknowledged that as well. anyone else think they guys took their fear of technology a little too far this morning? i mean they openly welcome anything thats normal for their generation...dvrs etc

Throcks: 100 | Re:ipods & the end of civilization Not sure about the ipod thing. I feel the same about it as I do about paying for radio, not big on it. I have enough bills as it is than to start paying for something I can get for free. If I want a song I borrow a friends disk and DL it on the comp. If I want to listen the radio I turn on the radio. Maybe the ipod thing will catch up to me, I am just not on the got to have it kick with these things.
