| Wookin Pa Nub ![]() ![]() | 'Best Of' - 11/1/01 Thursday 11-1-01 Todd and Tyler started off the show this morning a bit on the crabby side. To begin the day, Tyler forgot to take out the garbage and had to pull back into his driveway to get it done. Then, he opted to skip stopping at Quik Trip where he normally buys a newspaper and some coffee. The paper has been on time for a while now and the guys just got a new coffee maker delivered by a listener yesterday so there was really no need for his routine stop. When he arrived however, he found that the World Herald was once again late and he couldn't get the coffee machine to work. On top of that, the studio was a complete mess due to the overnighter, someone had changed the station in TnT's office to a dance music radio station and most of the headphones for the studio were missing. In an effort to calm the situation, yet complain about the lateness of the World Herald, Donnie went out to the parking lot with a bowl full of candy to try to coax the World Herald deliverer to bring them a paper but it didn't work well. After a little bit of ranting, TnT spent some time discussing Halloween last night, which for the most part, was relatively uneventful for both of them. From the sounds of it, the guys just mellowed out on their couches while their lovely ladies took care of the Halloween duties. The guys spent a little time discussing their current dodge ball schedule. Quite a few schools around the area are already slated to take on the Todd and Tyler Traveling Dodge Ball All Star team this winter but more schools will be added as time goes on. TnT discussed their personal vigorous training regiments as they prepare for the upcoming season. The conversation also lead into a lengthy discussion about local geography and small town school mascot names. TnT read an article e-mailed to them out of a Pennsylvania newspaper today that was written about Eric Crouch as a Heisman trophy candidate. The author of the article basically pointed out all the reasons he felt Crouch shouldn't win the trophy. TnT seemed to agree with most of what the article said. Attaboy Travis, however, disagreed with nearly everything in the article. He and Todd and Tyler went round and round on the validity of Crouch as a candidate for a while before they all seemed to get sick of the discussion and moved on. During one point of this morning's show, the guys wondered how their homeless friend Alex was doing. They asked any of their listeners who have recently spotted Alex to phone in and let them know he and his shed were okay. Shortly after, they got a call and found out that Alex's shed is still in the same place. Later, Alex himself called in and rambled on about throwing baseballs at Creighton students and chewing up food for a 95-year-old toothless woman. Alex also mentioned that he would be taking part in batting practice today. So, all in all, everyone's favorite hobo seems to be doing fine. Curtis Fortier from the Funny Bone came in and hung out with TnT for a bit. He joined in on the topics of the day and seemed to enjoy his time with TnT. You can catch Curtis at the Bone opening up for Auggie Smith this weekend by calling 493-8036 for reservations. Todd and Tyler spoke with Lewis Black, who will be appearing at the Funny Bone next Thursday through Saturday. They spent a bit of time discussing news coverage, recent things Lewis has done on Comedy Central's 'The Daily Show' as well as how 'The Daily Show' has been getting back to normal after the September 11th attacks. Included in the conversation was a bit of talk about airport security and how comedians may have been taking things too seriously in recent weeks. Lewis, one of the funniest sum'bitches on the planet will, again, be at the Funny Bone on November 8th, 9th and 10th. Call 493-8036 for reservations but make sure you leave me a spot! Mark Gross, who appeared at the Funny Bone last week, phoned TnT today to talk about his visit to Omaha. While on the phone, he shared a few stories about Curtis Fortier as well as mentioning an appearance on 'Late Friday', a show airing this Friday night after the Conan show. We'll be hearing more from Mark in the near future, as he has a comedy special in the works and occasionally makes appearances on 'The Tonight Show' so stay tuned. Towards the end of the show, a camera from Channel 3 came in the studio to record Todd and Tyler's reactions to a story they are doing about Husker coffins. If you are unfamiliar with the premise, there is a company who has been making custom caskets for a variety of sports franchises. Then, when a fan dies, he/she can be buried in a coffin designed around the colors and logo of their favorite team. According to reports, Husker fans have purchased more of these specialty coffins than anyone else anywhere in the country and Channel 3 is going to do a news story on it. Todd and Tyler's reaction was simple. I believe it was Todd who looked directly into the camera and said to those purchasing such coffins something to the effect of, 'You're a sad, sick idiot.' TnT ranted for a while about the concept and wondered whether people who would be willing to spend the bank on such a novelty have anything else worthwhile in their lives like a career or family. The report may air tonight but I'm not sure because I don't believe the air time/date was mentioned. Tune in to Channel 3 to see TnT and while you're there, stick around for Attaboy Trav's sports report. Well, that's the update for 11/1/2001 |
