 | TnT Show 10-03-2006 The Republicans were trying to spin the Foley thing as a "gay" issue (rather than a pedophile issue), and Jon Stewart said something like "If that's what they believe, then maybe that's why they're portrayed as anti-gay". Tony Snow called them "naughty" emails. They talked about Higgins being on the news last night, and how they realize that Matt is doing his job, but there's a lot of nasty emails about him to the show and his "provide the body" top hat and cane last ditch effort in his Chris Edwards murder case. Its not Cox's fault about the Husker game this weekend not being in HD. Call Channel 7, don't bitch to Travis, Channel Third, Todd and Tyler, or Cox cable about it. ("and hopefully, there's no tornado this weekend", from Tyler) Todd's teasing about what's coming up in SEGMENT 5! Todd thinks that people going into fits about the smoking ban think its a big social experiement "What are they going to take away from us next!?" was a quote from some near cancer victim smoking outside a restaurant on the news. Former Huskers Kyle Larson and Sam Koch are starting punters in the NFL "I believe that's a claim that no other NFL team can make, I'm just showing my Husker pride here" - Todd Tyler joked that Craig's news was brought to us by "Cohen Vacanti, Higgins, Shattuck, Candy, and Show Me The Body"

| Re: TnT Show 10-03-2006 I got a little excited...I wanted to comment on more. Did Cox take away HD for all our public stations? Channel 9 (KETV ABC) had a scrolling message about not coming to a contract deal with Cox. Matt Higgins...why the heck are people so angry with a lawyer? He is only doing his job in defending a man who is up on murder chargers. Maybe these folks can spend better time going out and searching for Jessica instead.

| Re: TnT Show 10-03-2006 RE: Cox & KETV-HD Cox & KETV's parent company, Hearst-Argyle (HA) are in a pissing match. HA is trying to get Cox to pay them for use of their FREE HD signal. The government has given HA free spectrum to broadcast their HD signal over, and now they want Cox to pay for the retransmission of said signal. I'm really pissed about this subject. After incorrectly focusing my anger towards Cox for a few hours after 809 went "off air", I'm now refocused on KETV/HA. Starting on 10/1, I began sending an email (about every 12 hours or so) to: robmccartney@ketv.com juliecornell@ketv.com ffazal@hearst.com ethammond@hearst.com bpetersen@hearst.com kreid@hearst.com billrandby@ketv.com weather@ketv.com jucampbell@hearst.com jonschuetz@ketv.com Those are the email addresses I could find on KETV's website. I received my first reply just this evening, from Jon Schuetz. My email: Please bring back HD on Cox!!! While some of you may not be directly responsible for this, you're all employees of the company who is keeping the signal from those of us who rely on OTA service from our cable provider.Jon's response: We get it. Please stop sending this email. I can't do anything about it.Well, to that I say, BS! They're asking me to do something for them, without doing anything in return? HA! No way... | Re: TnT Show 10-03-2006 -Some dude named Nick called in (segment 3) and suggested his master plan to eliminate the illegal immigration problem: "Take everybody off of welfare." Why will this resolve the issue, you ask? "Well, [taking] away the welfare will put everybody back to work." Yeah, don't know why TnT (or anybody, for that matter) might have gone off against this caller... -Travis talked about the Cox and KETV squabble...he suggested that people, if they have recently bought an HDtv, check to see if their televisions have a tuner and already pick up the off-air digital signal before going nuts. His suggestion for Cox was to quit broadcasting KETV's analog signal to really show a point (dropping their signal during sweeps, specifically) -TnT talked about the best fans in the world, The Sea of Red, doing "the wave" while KU football player Eric Washington lay on the field for 15+ minutes after a serious injury (where he lost feeling in his extremities) during Saturday's game...Todd mentioned the editorial cartoon in the Monday edition of the Daily Nebraskan (UNL student paper): http://media.collegepublisher.com/me...s/n247wr1q.jpg -The Winslow 2000 was fixed and made its reappearance late in the show...
