When did you first start listening to Todd and Tyler (I want to hear your story)

It all started when I was alot younger, my dad worked the night shift and would be home in the mornings to take me and my little brother to school. My mom didn't like the fact that he wasn't shutting them off when we were in the car especially since we were elementary school. You can sort of see her point, there show isn't aimed for the childhood demographic. I used to get in trouble in school when i would discuss all the wonderful things I heard on the radio, in fact one thing that sticks out in my brain was they were discussing nipple piercings on a show that was on back when I was in the fourth grade, well I decided that I would tell all my friends the interesting stuff I heard and low and behold my teacher overheard me talking about it and to the principals office I went. That never stopped though I listened to todd and tyler until I was 16 until i was able to drive myself to school and since I had a cd player in my car i hardly ever listened to the radio.

Fast forward a couple years and I am a high school graduate, I was working full time and going to college, one night driving home from work, I caught the 3rd shift replay and it brought back fond memories the laughs i would get sitting in the backseat getting a ride to school. Then I realized now being 18 years old, I could now understand more of the things they were talking about.

I was a fan ever since but now that i'm 20 years old, what really got me into them hardcore is the fact that i work days at Werner Enterprises and I listen to them from 7:30 till 10:30.

I listen to them when I'm with you....does that count as a story?

I started listening to them in their first years... Right about the time of the Famous Sweet-98/Z-92 Rocket wars....

Thumbs up Re: When did you first start listening to Todd and Tyler (I want to hear your story)

I started listening about August of 2005. I was going to college in Sioux City waiting for class and thought...they are number one in Omaha... They should be pretty good. Even though I could barely hear it in Sioux City I continued to listen. I have listened since that day.

Call Z98 and get them on in Sioux City!

I remember listening a little in high school with a buddy that listened all the time. I also remember hearing stories when I was in high school of Heath Nelson from Onawa winning a contest on the show for doing the dumbest thing for money. He tryed breaking a bottle of Jack over his head.

I started in the mid to late 90's. It was shortly after they had first started, and been a fan since.

I was an Otis and Diver listener (boo!), then boycotted KEZO after Todd and Tyler for a long while after that. I think it was a bit about "Irma" having sex with some of her "slaves" that brought me back for good

Re: When did you first start listening to Todd and Tyler (I want to hear your story)

Since day one also. I was a big Otis and Diver listener when these guys took over and had people phoning in to bomb people on the highway. TnT had audio of a jet dropping bombs.

I didn't think they would last but I kept listening and they grew on me.

I was invited to drive one of the parade cars for H&H at an Aksarben Monster Truck show and got to meet them after they were introduced as "Tad" and Tyler. Mike was wearing camo pants and took a bunch of shit for it the next day or two on the radio. I still have the original Wake up and smell the radio t-shirt they gave me in mint condition.

I also was splashed by big trucks on L street after a heavy rain because Beast was too much of a puss to do it for Monday Night Chiefs tickets.

I am also the only proud non owner of TnT stock. I wonder it the value will go up after syndication?

Re: When did you first start listening to Todd and Tyler (I want to hear your story)

Wow, I feel so inadequate. I heard from my good friend Teachergirl that there was this cool site on the internet called TnTu. I checked it out, and really liked it. The only problem was that I didn't listen to Todd N Tyler. It wasn't that I was too good for them or anything, but I just don't usually like morning radio. I like music in the morning not talking. (Not so much a morning person)
I joined the site in March, and I think I started listening about a week after joining the site. Now I am hooked, and missed it in the summer when I got to sleep in! My boyfriend thinks I am a kook cuz I talk about all the stuff they talk about, but it is funny, and some of it is relevant. Anyway, it took me a while to get to know everyone on the show, but they crack me up.

(First time poster)

I have no idea what year it was. But BeastMaster was there and so was Emjay? I remember a gal named ?Courtney? that really brought the show down and I almost gave up the station because she PISSED ME OFF each day she was in the studio.

I have always listened for 2 to 4 hours a day and the new podcasting stuff is fantastic!! If only I could figure out how to get the podcasts into my iPod ( I've tried but have given up on it ).

The show is great and I hope it stays that way!

I've been listening since about 1998 or 1999. I was in eighth grade when I started listening before school and I still listen to this day. I'm 21 now. I listened when Volenec was still the news chick, the show has changed, but I still like it just as much. I was one of those very rare people that actually thought Brian was funny too, shame on me.

i started listening in june of 1999. i was moving from maryville, mo to lincoln and would commute for 2 hours on monday morning with not much to do than listen to the radio. it took a few weeks before i really appreciated what they were all about. all you folks in the springfield and wichita areas just give them a month and you'll be a life long listener.

Re: When did you first start listening to Todd and Tyler (I want to hear your story)

I listed to TNT off and on in the early 90's. It was not until about 99 that i started listening full time. I honestly don't know what I'd be listening to if TNT was not on the air. I'm a country girl at heart so during the afternoon I do switch but my mornings are with the guys.

I had listened off and on for a while and I really started listening everyday when Payne Stewart died in 98 or 99.

I almost wet myself laughing at that bit. You had me at 6 under.

Re: When did you first start listening to Todd and Tyler (I want to hear your story)

In the early 90's I always listened to the Joe & Timmo show on Lincoln's classic rock station, the Eagle 92.9 (where Craig used to work. The show was okay, but annoying cause they also played music, plus they were really annoying Husker fans.

When they'd start playing music, I'd end up listening to Todd & Tyler. It came to the point in the late 90's that I'd end up listening to TnT exclusively on my 15 minute drive to work.

The day I really got interested was a show TnT did on Election Day of 2000. I was involved in the anti-416 amendment and was told that TnT were doing an anti-416 show with an all-lesbian guest line up (which would interest me regardless). Their guests first names were Caroline, MJ, & Beth. And to this day, I'm wondering why they never returned to the show for a gay round table. This was also the day after TnT called the gay ministry in Virginia (the famous call on the "Hairlip" CD).

I wish Donnie hadn't left, cause he's so much more of a foil to Trav than Jeremy is. And he didn't have Jeremy's annoying laugh. But I was beyond happy when News Chick Brian got fired. I could not stand that homophobic deadbeat. Though, I'd still like to know why he was fired. TnT never said why. And when I brought up the subject on this site, it got shut down instantly. It's almost as if his departure was a matter of national security or something.

But anyways. I'm glad TnT are finally on Podcasts. Cause whoever the night guy is, always screwed up the 3rd shift replays. They'd either play a segment from the pervious day, or sometimes an entire show from a past week.

I still find Trav annoying and a clueless, uneducated idiot who thinks he wins arguments by merely yelling louder or simply saying "So?".
I can't say I agree with TnT on everything. I'm extremely liberal, but TnT aren't always. In fact, the only 2 people who have never ever pissed me off on the show are Matt Higgins and Black Tony.

But I'm still a loyal listener, and listen to the entire show on Podcast. Er, well. I usually skip past Trav's sports news and whatever music guest they have.

I couple previous posters on this thread have mentioned Otis & Dan. I used to listen to them a lot in the early 80's. The only thing I really liked about that show was their news girl Roxanne. Does anyone know who she was or what she looked like? Cause her voice was just hot and sexy as hell. Though, not as sexy as the voices or Jessica Dol or Trisha Morette <sp>.

Sorry this post got so long.

Started in the early 90s, listening on and off. Like many, they rubbed me the wrong way at first - but eventually won me over.

Hey, no need to apologize - it made me laugh.
Perhaps I should say they rubbed me the wrong way the right way...;)

The show has evolved quite a bit since the beginning....some for the better, some for the worst. Though, I still love the show and understand the changes.

Some of the bits they did in regards to local issues at the time was hilarious stuff. That's one thing I miss now with 'the Empire.'
