| Wookin Pa Nub ![]() ![]() | Who would win an "ethics" based fist fight? Anyone, Nobody? Travis, Todd, Tyler, and Beastmaster got into an argument about stem cells, in vitro, ethics, science, and religion. But they're still friends, and they're clones from the future all kiss and hug and have premarital sex when the mics are off Check out the 11/1/2006 podcast (segment 3 or 4 maybe?) to witness the carnage. Basically, Trav asked the guys if they thought "everything" in science was ok, no ethics involved at all, and the guys said "sure, whatever". But the guys tried to point out that ethics are based on religious beliefs. My personal opinion was to question Trav to ask, who's going to come up with the ethics, and what happens if nobody abides by them? It came down to the guys tellin' Trav that he's speaking for his church, and Trav denied that, and that he'd feel the same way even if he didn't go to church. "Well, we know you don't do that" said Tyler. "Trav's hypocrisy knows no bounds!" - Jeremy "Oh yeah... its boundless" - Todd There was some meanness displayed when Tyler suggested that Z92 aired a commercial for the Catholic church because they were "mad at Trav for a coupla weeks"

| Re: Who would win an "ethics" based fist fight? Politics and Religion, the two things my Grandpa told me to avoid in conversations because everybody is right and the only result will be injured friendships. I vote nobody.

| Re: Who would win an "ethics" based fist fight? I also voted nobody. What would you consider "winning"? Getting the best of someone in an argument, or damaging a friendship you've had for years, over something you know you shouldn't be debating to begin with?

| Re: Who would win an "ethics" based fist fight? I had to really contemplate that question. (Read into it for more than it was asking). I voted for nobody.... Everybody has their own ethics and MORALS. They are guidelines as to how we lead and live our own lives. They are instilled into us from birth by our surroundings and the people who are influential on us as we grow up. Everything around you determines your own ethics i.e. how you want to live your own life and govern your own behavior. Just as it is ethical for one person to believe it is alright to hunt and kill animals for food and product, it is just as ethical for next person to believe it is completely unjust to kill any living thing for any purpose. The Ten Commandments is a short list of the ethical thinking of the time. Some, now, choose to live by a partial list. Some choose to live by the full list. And some choose to live by none of the list. Hence our Ethics, Morals, and Beliefs get us into many an argument for which there will never be a winner. Because in our own minds we are the winners, no matter what anybody else says. From the desk of: Professor Thender.

| Nobody would win. None of them would stop. I was with Trav on the topic...I can't believe they went that far! I am far from religious like Travis is. I don't believe he said what he did just because he is a Catholic. It was entertaining though!

| Fear me, if you dare! ![]() ![]() | Re: Who would win an "ethics" based fist fight? I voted for Todd, cuz although I didn't hear it today, Todd thinks about his answers, and he might be stoned and a little philosophical!
