| Syndication Issues I've returned to this forum after a couple year absence. I live in Lincoln and still listen to the show faithfully, but I have a few concerns that I've noticed of late, as per the syndication I thought I'd address. First off, I really cannot stand the new Voice Guy. He doesn't even put forth any effort in saying his bits. He just blandly reads his copy. I understand they couldn't afford the original Voice Guy, but it sounds like they settled for some bargain basement version. Did they even interview anyone? Or did they just hire the first person that applied? Also, the original Voice Guy's line was "I'm a geek and I'm hanging around with my stupid geek buddies and we did some stupid geek things". For some reason, the new guy omits the word "stupid". His bland voice is bad enough, but skipping a word on the copy makes it even worse. Secondly, does anyone know how well Todd & Tyler are doing in their new syndicated cities? From their lack of mentioning ratings, I'm assuming they aren't doing that well. But then, it took several years for them to catch on on Omaha. I'm not knocking them. Just wondering. Because I went to the Z-106.3 web site and there is NOT ONE mention of Todd & Tyler on their main page. I mean NOTHING. Does anyone know if the Round Table will be back? Thanks goodness Black Tony is there on Fridays. I could care less about Prodigy, but what about Higgins? Do they have to pay Round Table members since they went syndicated? Is that why they cut back? Since Todd & Tyler went Podcast, they've had an option on the Podcast page called "Archive". But whenever you click it, it just gives you instructions on how to download the Podcasts. Are they ever going to use this function and actually have a page for archived shows? It would figure since they do have a button for it. I've asked Jeremy, but he never replies to that question. And this is kinda nitpicky, but on the daily Podcast page, why are the segments listed in reverse? It starts with Segment 11 and goes 10, 9, 8, 7, . . . to the bottom. How about starting with 1 at the top? Or would that make too much sense? Answers to these questions would be greatly appreciated. Toad |

| Re: Syndication Issues The big voice guy change was a money issue.. From what I heard the new voice guy is the same one used in Wichita (correct??). I don't know how well the ratings in the other cities are going but I do know that it will take some time for the listeners to realize who and what the Todd and Tyler show is. They have never paid the round table and never will. That wasn't the issue. The guys said that people need to understand the show and be able to put voices to names. They said the round table isn't gone forever - just put on hold. I don't know if Tony will be in on every Friday or just some. I know with the podcasts they are working on things. Right now so much is going on and so fast.. give them time to catch up. It may take a while to get everything working smoothly. Jeremy's work load has increased along with everyone else's with the syndication. Hopefully you will keep listening and feel free to post any questions or comments.. Thanks |

I also am not fond of the new voice guy. He over enunciates the word and when she says, "Todd and Tyler". The real big voice guy spoke like the rest of us speak and says "Todd 'n' Tyler". Actually the new VG over enunciates everything. I have told myself that proper speaking should not bother me but it does. He sounds so stilted and phony when he talks so proper. Not laid back and casual like the BVG we are used to. As for the rest of the stuff - It's still in the early stages and I am still very hopefull the guys and all the people that make the show happen will get it together as time goes by. Thanks for watching.

| Re: Syndication Issues MMM, >> From what I heard the new voice guy is the same one used in Wichita (correct??). I don't think so. I've heard TnT mention that he's a local voice. >> They have never paid the round table and never will. That wasn't the issue. I'm aware of that. I just thought maybe changing to syndication meant that semi-regular guests like that might require being paid. >> The guys said that people need to understand the show and be able to put voices to names. That seems weird since when I first listened 6 years ago they had a whole staff of people on the show from Todd, Tyler, BW, Donnie, Danny, Trav, and whomever. It wasn't hard to distinguish for me. Tyler's voice is loud and clear. Todd's sounds like a cross between Edward G. Robinson and Police Chief Wiggims. Trav was (and is) the complete idiot. And Donnie was his aggressor. >> They said the round table isn't gone forever - just put on hold. Thank the gods. I like the variety of voices and opinions on Friday. >> I don't know if Tony will be in on every Friday or just some. I hope he will always. >> I know with the podcasts they are working on things. Right now so much is going on and so fast.. give them time to catch up. It may take a while to get everything working smoothly. I'm just glad they are finally doing Podcasts. I can never listen to the entire show at once because of my job. Before the Podcasts, I had to buy a special radio called a Versacorder that records standards cassette tapes at a very slow speed in order to hear the entire show. I'm just amazed that the Podcasts are FREE. Cause most national radio shows charge you for their downloads. I subscribe to Art Bell's Coast To Coast show, which is like $7.00 a month. I guess we should enjoy TNT free while it lasts. >> Jeremy's work load has increased along with everyone else's with the syndication. Yep. That's one reason I stopped e-mailing him and the guys and returned to this forum. >> Hopefully you will keep listening and feel free to post any questions or comments. I have and always will (except when Travis is on). Thank you for answering my questions. Toad |

| Re: Syndication Issues Sybil, >> I also am not fond of the new voice guy. He over enunciates the word and when she says, "Todd and Tyler". The real big voice guy spoke like the rest of us speak and says "Todd 'n' Tyler". EXACTLY! And TnT usually HATE it when people write or pronounce the show as "Todd and Tyler". You'd think they'd say something to this guy. Another point I forgot to bring up. The original BVG actually got into the lines he spoke. He actually acted!!! He'd emphasize certain words and put a lilt on them. This new guy if so freaking BLAND. He doesn't even try and get into the grove of things. Sometimes the original BVG's voice would be phased a bit. You think they'd to that to the new guy to make him sound a little more like he's not doing the voice work on his lunch break. >> I have told myself that proper speaking should not bother me but it does. He sounds so stilted and phony when he talks so proper. Not laid back and casual like the BVG we are used to. When I first heard his voice, it was him doing "that guy and your mom are doing it", I just wanted to stop my car and puke. Personally, I wish they would have gotten J Dol to be the new Big Voice Gal. It wouldn't be BVG, but it'd be sexy as freaking hell. In fact, I never understood why they got Lester to do the "Big O" announcements for Dr. Johns. When you think orgasm, you usually think women. Wouldn't it have been a million times sexier to have J Dol say "home of the Big O"? No offense to Lester, but there's a reason sex lines and lingerie stores usually don't have men doing the voice-over advertisements. Toad |

| Re: Syndication Issues Hal Dawg, >> Case in point: Syndication might be better for TnT in the long run, but how long will these stations give the new show to "make it"? Exactly my thought when TnT made their syndicated announcement. I know TnT were all cocky when they finally broke their announcement, but I was just wondering if other cities could relate to the show that we're all used to and love. I know TnT didn't have a choice, but I think Springfield and Wichita aren't that great of cities to start the show in. I think Sioux City and Des Moines would have made more sense. But they had to go with what was offered by Journal. Toad |

| Re: Syndication Issues ^I know it's the radio biz and people can say and do completely opposite things, but I recall Todd saying that the Wichita (T-95) PD said she loved the show and was "committed" to air TnT for the next ten years. It's too bad I just deleted my own archives of the show or I'd try to be more accurate with my statement. Take it for what you will, but it *sounds* like Wichita is willing to give the show ample time to try and click with the local audience there... Food for thought

| Re: Syndication Issues Is the big voice guy that big of a deal that you would do a petition? You honestly would only get a few signatures and then the guys would just make fun of us.. They don't come to your job and tell you what to do, do you think they would like us telling them what they should do? I honestly think the big voice guy is getting better.. |

| Re: Syndication Issues MMM, You think the new voice guy is getting BETTER? I think you're the only one. I think he's getting WORSE. Especially on those "you think your band name sucks" bits. | Re: Syndication Issues In reading other's reactions to the New Big Voice Guy, it would seem that it's more of an integral part of the show than one may realize. Some of the voice-over bits are humorous and lend to the show's atmosphere, but I don't feel that it has affected the show's overall ratings or their presence within the morning radio industry. With regards to J-Dol doing TnT show voice-overs, I would support that completely. However, her time is consumed doing mid-days on the air, music director duties, and Rock-dot-Committee tasks as well as some current voice-over bits aired throughout the broadcast day. With that much on her plate, I don't think it would come to fruition. Just my 2 cents...now give me back my change.

| Re: Syndication Issues OB1, I don't think it would take any time for Jessica to do voice-over announcements for the show at all. It's not like she'd have to do them on a daily basis or anything. Plus, most of the drops are used over and over again from a 1-time recording session. Only periodically do they have a new drop. I'm sure Jess could squeeze in 15 minutes of her schedule to accommodate that. Toad |
