The guys talked about this on 1-18-07. They mentioned that the radio guys were even joking about someone dying and that a couple of years prior to this a frat boy died doing this for initiation.

Todd and Tyler talked about some of the dumb things they did like the guy that hit himself on the head with the baseball bat and how lucky they were that nothing happened to him.

Does anyone have the sound to put here for those that haven't heard it?

They talked about that on the news yesterday. A nurse had actually called in to warm them on the seriousness of water intoxication.

As bad as it all is and the fact they knew of the dangers and had been warned...does anyone really think in situations such as these that in the moment, something like this could really happen? You don't even really play the odds, you just assume it can't or won't happen. Hindsight is always 20/20

If you listen to the sound clip, you can hear the nurses call into the station, and the jokes about "people dying" by drinking water.

"Don't worry, we're covered, they signed releases".

Yes, it was foolish and irresponsible, blah blah blah... I don't think anyone can sit here and say they haven't done something that could have caused themselves or someone else some serious consequences.

I have done alot of shit as a teenager that was far beyond stupid, I knew the risks.

I am by no means saying that they should not be held responsible or not recieve some scrutiny. Someone died over this. I am just saying that I really don't believe that they really took the dangers all that seriously. Weren't these contestants warned of the dangers too?

You're right, well sorta. I believe that they can fly as high as a few feet but not much higher than that.

As long as we are going off topic... Wild turkeys can fly at least 75 feet high in the air. They sound like giant helicopters when they take off and they scare the shit outa ya when you scare one up while hunting...

I am sure the radio station had them sign general releases that would cover them blah, blah, but I'm sure these releases did not cover water intoxication, or the possibility of death. I am also sure the radio people did not go into this thinking that someone could possibly die, hence them joking about it.
