I am curious if anyone would be interested in an application to download Todd n Tyler Radio Empire podcasts. I working on an application for myself but I would be willing to share it if anyone is interested. The application is working but isn't polished yet. I'm attaching a couple of screen shots. One of the application and the other of the results. Right now it downloads a complete day in about 10 minutes.





With the application you select the date that you want to download and click the download button. This application will only work for the last week of files.

Let me know if you think there would be an interest for an application like this.

That is what I was thinking when I posted. I want to polish the app but I can put the setup files out now and then provide updates when they are ready.

2 pumps and a quiver

I'm interested in this as the other doesnt work. Are the setup files available already? Would like to get this started if possible.

The setup files are ready for download. Goto TNT Radio Empire Pod Cast Downloader and you can download a compressed file there that has three setup files.

I have included an instructions page also.

After having trouble with the Juice podcast application (it didn't recognize that there were any podcasts to download from the TnT XML site), I searched this forum and found this posting. I have to say KUDOS to you, Dick Payne (seriously?), for developing this. It is an amazing program. I look forward to updates and improvements, but for now, it does its job admirably. I got a whole week's worth of episodes in about an hour. Amazing! Now I can catch up on all the parts I miss in the mornings. You, sir, Mr. Payne, are a gentlman and a scholar. Cheers!

DP, downloaded the downloader and when I tried to install I get an error message saying I need the .net framework version 1.1 I already have 2.0 installed.....any suggestions

I don't know. It was written with .NET 2003. Let me see if I can figure that out.

Sounds like a great program, if I'm away from my office I can download the show and listen to on my iPod.

.NET 2.0 version available now.

I have compiled the application and created the setup files using the .NET 2.0 framework.

It can be found at Index of /downloadTNT_Setup_Files2.0.zip

Download the zip file and unzip at your c:\ and it will create a temp folder called "tmp_downloader". Then run the setup.exe file inside the "tmp_downloader" folder.

Whew. Glad it worked for you. I downloaded VB 2005 Express to convert my 2003 files.

Some of the items I plan on adding are:
- The ability to direct where the download happens so the user doesn't have to move files from c:
- An auto timer so the user can run the app from the system tray and it will go download the files automatically at a certain time of day.
- The ability to play a day with just selecting a day and having the app fire WMPlayer and play that day.

I don't know squat about adding the files to an iPod or MP3 player automatically so I don't think that feater will ever be added but I will take suggestions if anyone would like to suggest features.

2 pumps and a quiver

This works great however I'm trying to figure out how to sort them so they start with the first segment rather than the 11th segment. Anyone know if itunes allows you to sort them backwards?

When I open the files in Windows media player I select the last file first and the first file last while holding the shift key. I don't know why but it will play them in order that way.

Wonder if this trick works in itunes or if there is a way to sort them before you sync the ipod to get them to go synchronous.
