| Will The TnT Show Leave Omaha? After finally achieving the long term goal of having their own nationally syndicated radio show, will the Omaha morning staple for the last 15 years finally bid a geographic farewell to its loyal local listeners? To this long time listener it would be fair to assume that the show would make such a move to a more "celebrity friendly" city, enabling TnT to conduct in-studio interviews. I don't know kids......what do you think???? |

| Re: Will The TnT Show Leave Omaha? At first, I thought you meant was the show not going to be broadcast on KEZO--must be getting close to my bedtime. Interesting question. I suppose the show could be broadcast from just about anywhere since their efforts to practically eliminate local references have not detracted much of my enthusiasm for the program. I imagine it would be more likely that TnT would part ways (possibly leaving Omaha) to broadcast from their own at-home "studios" rather than both move somewhere, but perhaps Todd is as willing to leave as Tyler is (Todd's children are more connected to the area). Of course, I think it's fairly obvious the at-home broadcasting, as seen by the recent attempts to communicate with Doc Ed, is less reliable than their current broadcasting method--therefore, I don't see this as a truly viable option for several more years (assuming the technology improves and becomes more reliable). Would it matter if most of the TnT show (I doubt Trav would go, but could still do the sports) could pack up and move the home base to a larger city such as Kansas City? I enjoy the show for several reasons, and their connection to Omaha is not the most important. Thanks for posting this poll 'ox--I look forward to the response I guess my short answer is yes, they will leave, but I don't see it happening before 2010 (or whenever their contract expires)

| Straight Pimpin ![]() | Re: Will The TnT Show Leave Omaha? I'm moving this to the main "Todd and Tyler" forum because for some reason, it seems to belong up there. And regarding their "national syndication", I'm not exactly sure what Envision Radio Networks does, but it seems to me they are some kind of broker for national syndication. Just because The Empire signed on with ERN, it doesn't make them nationally syndicated. It depends on if stations pick up the show through ERN. At least that's how I understand it, but I'm not a radio geek. And I would think that sinceJournal Broadcast Group "owns" the show, it gives them the power of deciding where its aired.

| Re: Will The TnT Show Leave Omaha? Philosophical, I think I took the poll exactly for what it says: I think the boys will have to move their operation if they truly want to improve the show by drawing bigger-named celebrities. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I doubt they will be able to get huge celebrities in the studio by staying in Omaha. Just because I think they will have to move doesn't mean they have to leave in the near future. The time table for this is indeed too difficult to guess--Envision's involvement may speed up their expansion, but their impact could be minimal. Have TnT even mentioned the deal? I need to catch up on the last two days of podcasts, but this week has been hectic. Besides, even if the show moved, it doesn't mean the mighty Z will abandon TnT. The boys are a proven winner here, and I hope it stays that way for at least another decade or two.
