Today, the guys talked about the podcast problems that people have been having, the biggest problem seems to be the slowness of the download of the podcast.

According to Todd and Tyler, Big P, and the folks at Journal Broadcast Group, the bandwidth for the podcasts are being exceeded, and so JBG had to put a cap on the speeds.

To me, all JBG does by capping the speed is discourage people from downloading the podcast, which I guess would lower the bandwidth levels.

Todd and Tyler realize that JBG is probably just too cheap to increase their bandwidth limits (podcasts are distributed by a third party, and are not stored "in house"), but they want everybody to know that they feel your pain, and please don't bitch to them, they understand the frustration.

To bitch to JBG yourself, and tell them how cheap they are, and that Clear Channel stations don't seem to have these issues, visit this page, and pick a guy to bitch to, probably Jim Thomas (VP of New Media Development), or Steve Wexler (maybe the only guy that will listen):

wern't you allowing podcasts through this site at one time, or where those just links to the "official" podcasts?

Those were the "old style" podcasts, and they were just links through their service. They do a better job of titling and giving some comments to the existing segments from the podcasts, so they can subscribe to them right from the tntradioempire.com site.

I have a call into Jim Thomas, asking if he's the guy for people to send comments to regarding the podcasts and JBG's cheapness.

And I can't find out if the podcast bandwidth problem is with feedburner, or some other service. I'm not an expert on podcast delivery, but I'll try to find more information.

I'm curious as to if JBG's podcast bandwidth limit is because of the Todd and Tyler Show popularity, or if there is just "more" JBG content available to download, and that is really causing the bandwidth problems.

I thought it was cause ob1 went to the dark side...and that was screwing it up....

Whatever happened i went from downloading them at almost 600k/sec to maybe 60k/sec if im lucky..according to Big P though you should be able to download at least 100k/sec which isnt terrible for the file size. I just hope someone listens and get it fixed

I got an email from Jim Thomas, he doesn't think he's the guy to talk to about it, but he wants to get this fixed, so that's a good sign.

I subscribe to the podcast, but anymore when I open up Itunes and open podcasts it's not even picking up any new ones for TNT, anybody else having this issue? Hell even slow would be better than not being able to pick them up at all.

By the way long time reader first time poster, great site!

Couldn't tell ya, no idea why that would be, unless itunes won't pick them up anymore because of the slow speed, but that's just an answer I pulled out of my ass.

Either Jim Thomas found somebody to fix the problem, or he was disingenuous about his sincerity on calling me back with an explanation.

Anybody still have slow podcast downloading problems?
